Penang Fried Kway Teow, $6. It’s very hard to find a good plate of Penang Fried Kway Teow here in sg! This is really good and fragrant with a nice tint of wok-hei! Every mouthful has ingredients in it, generous with their eggs, beansprouts with fresh prawns! Scraping every bits of it and no wastage! We love, how they served it on top of a banana leaf! .

[Must Try] Authentic Assam Curry Fish Head, $22. Wow, we drooled as the claypot was served to our table.. it smells so fragrant and it’s still boiling! Portion is huge for $22, and can be shared between 2-3 pax.. Fish head is very fresh, meat is very smooth and silky. It also come with some brinjal, small diced lady fingers, Long beans and dried beancurd skin! Assam curry is not too spicy and it has that tint of Assam that we adores! We couldn’t stop sipping those Assam curry and soaking the entire plate of white rice in it! Heavenly SHIOK 🌶! .

Super love Island Penang Kitchen. Today I tried their Curry Noodles (changed it to kway teow) and I like it alot! Think of it as Singapore Laksa but more watered down but still as tasty. There was alot of ingredients inside as well - prawns, fish cake, Tau kee, long beans. This dish costs $5 nett.

Island Penang Kitchen is a heartland restaurant near West Coast Market that serves up really authentic Penang cuisine.

Wanted to try out this place for a while; quite surprised by the crowd that was already there having their tzechar meal at 5:30pm in the evening, and having tried out the food it is little wonder why. Slurpy Kway Teow that isn’t overly greasy, wok-fried with that immense wok-hei and a slight sweetness amidst the savoury notes with crumbly bits of egg, lupcheong and seafood, it’s a pretty well-executed plate of Kway Teow exhibiting finesse and skill in its preparation — something I would crave for again!

Nicely fried, not dry or oily.
Flavour was good.
Wish there is some cucumber or something to go along with it.

Soup was just correct, not too watery or thick.
I like it that they did not put a lot of sugar to sweeten the soup and let the natural flavours of the ingredients to shine.
