3 munchies: Tossed in an umami sauce infused with great seafood flavours and a hint of lemon zing, the homemade tagliolini comes with tender prawns, crunchy asparagus, cherry tomatoes, and aromatic breadcrumb sprinkles. There was also just enough sauce to soak up the pasta that was slightly overcooked. The Prawn Tagliolini might be the only pasta dish that I'd recommend from this traditional Italian tavern, however, there were more misses than hits with the mains and desserts.

ACAMASEATS & TIPS💮: A Pairing match made in my kinda Heaven - Creamy Burrata alongside Sweet smoked Parma Ham, will never go wrong. It's priced at 💵S$19 on the menu but check the "Chef's Special Board" for the Specials of the day. 🔖
.
Some of the Specials are; Tagliolini with Fresh Black Truffle (💵S$40), Papa Al Pomodoro (💵S$16), Linguine w Fresh Mussels, Olives & onions (💵S$32) & Italian Seabass Grilled/Salt Baked (💵S$78)

Easily the best dessert I've had in the past month, this lime tart woke my tastebuds up with its tangy kick. Uber refreshing after a rather heavy meal! Not a big fan of meringue though, so I had the tart without.

Burrata and parma ham is always a reliable starter to go with! We went for the chef's special for a big size (usual portion is $19) to share among the ten of us. Weren’t sure at first if this bigger than fist sized ball of burrata would have its quality compromised, but we still got our mouths of soft and stringy cheese! My only gripe, more parma ham please?

Linguine was al dente and tossed with a good number of mussels, but it was pretty average in comparison to the other pastas we had. Flavours were lighter. I can’t take beef so I didn’t try those on our table but I preferred the Homemade Tagliolini, Prawns, Lemon, Aromatic Breadcrumb ($22) and Orecchiette, Pork Sausage, Saffron Sauce ($19).

A quick scan around the restaurant and you’ll see this starter sitting on most tables. Rolled up pork belly stuffed with wild fennel and baked to a layer of crackling skin all around, it’s served as a whole cut before the server helps to snip it into smaller pieces. The bites were tender with a touch of light pepperiness. It was sadly dry in some parts, but all’s well with dips into that addictive side of spicy mustard!

3.5 munchies: Who'd have expected the stuffed Roman-style pizza to be the stand-out dish at this traditional Italian tavern? Each portion of the crusty flatbread is sandwiched with oozy, melted pecorino cheese and aromatic black truffle, making it a palate-pleasing starter for sharing! #Burpproved

Spoilt by my aunt’s homemade tiramisu, it’s quite hard to find another as good else where. iO serves theirs up with Pistachio but it was very subtle in taste. The fluffy layer of mascarpone paired with the coffee soaked sponge was likable, but we were missing that fragrant rum element!

Favorite dish that day! Absolutely loved this seemingly simple pairing of oozy melted cheese and truffle, stuffed in a perfectly toasted schiacciata. Crisp exterior but there's still that lovely fluffy and slightly chewy texture within. If you're in a group likes us, skip the small portion and go straight for the large!

I thought the starters fared way better than the mains that I've tried at iO Osteria, other than this Homemade Tagliolini that was beaming with crustacean flavors and sprinkled with aromatic breadcrumbs. The pasta had great texture with very fresh ingredients — prawns, tomatoes and asparagus. It's a dish that keeps you wanting for more!

Porchetta, Baked Pork Belly, Wild Fennel is a great choice for sharing on the table. The stuffed boneless pork roast has a crackling skin which I liked! The centre was slightly on the dry side but it's easily solved by dipping it with a little mustard sauce, which introduces a tangy and spicy flavor that eases that dryness.

My Favourite dish from iO has got to be this Pistachio Tiramisu ($14). Italians sure know their Tiramisus! Pillowy soft tiramisu with just about the right amount of everything! Every mouthful was just heaven to me.....

We had 3-4 different pastas at iO and re best turned out to be this Tagliolini Prawn ($22) which wasn't too thick or heavy and had a nice umami flavour going for it. It could be due to our longer duration of photo taking, the pasta became dense and brittle by the time we had it... Moral of the story: Dig in fast when the food comes!
