Just look at all that beautiful layers! 🀩🀩🀩 Here at @izyfook, you can look forward to enjoy succulent cubes of pork belly with the perfect meat-fat ratio cooked to perfection! πŸ‘πŸ»
.
Besides their signature roast pork on its own, their Charred Pepper Pork ($13++) is bound to delight you too! βœ” The meat remained obnoxiously tender & juicy which gives you a burst of flavours in every bite. πŸ’― Of course, the best part would be that nice crackling skin that gives a good crunch! 🀀
.
Briefly stir-fried in teriyaki sauce & curry leaves, the luscious coat of sauce lends an oriental touch to the dish without losing the crunch. πŸ’•

It has been some time since I last had satay & these Chicken SaTAY ($12++ for 3 pieces) at @izyfook certainly satisfied my cravings! πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹
.
The chicken skewers πŸ“ were made using super succulent meats with a nice springy chew that boasts of its freshness. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ» Liked that they were sufficiently chunky too for that wholesome bite. βœ” Coupled with the smoky flavours of the char-grill & perfectly-charred exterior, these skewers were simply on point! πŸ’―

You might already know that I am a nuts about nuts so the peanut sauce really aced it for me! πŸ₯œ Savoury-sweet with an irresistible nutty fragrance, it brings so much flavours & a nice crunch to the meat skewers. πŸ’• The accompanying lemongrass blend also helps to cut the heaviness of the meats. 🀀🀀🀀

Certainly a worthy small bite to have at @izyfook! ❀

How do you like your LALA (clams) cooked? While my favourite would be those stir-fried with sambal chilli πŸ”₯ at BBQ stalls, this rendition at @izyfook left a deep impression on me. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»
.
Their Steamed Clams in Dashi ($18++) features a generous amount of fresh clams that were sufficiently plump & juicy! 😍😍😍 The natural sweetness retained from the steaming process was a clear indication of its ultimate freshness! πŸ’―
.
The dashi stock was light & refreshing, with its slight savoury flavours complementing the sweet clams. πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ Topped with some garlic, chives, scallion & coriander, this was an unpretentious bowl that all seafood lovers would be delighted with. πŸ’•

Not that I’m a copycat but I sincerely echo many others’ view that Superior Prawn Mee Pok ($$19++) is hands down the BEST item at @izyfook! πŸ’― This is by far the most fabulous spin-off of our all-so-familiar Prawn Mee & Minced Pork Noodles - not a complete transformation but definitely a remarkable combination. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»
.
Featuring plump & springy tiger prawns 🦐, savoury sakura ebi, flavourful minced pork πŸ–, some lap cheong bits, a perfectly-executed onsen egg 🍳, with mee pok soaked in a robust-tasting prawn broth, this bowl was really HEAVENLY! 🀀🀀🀀
.
The highlight has got to be that thick broth - so rich & full of umami that got me wanting more! ❀❀❀ Topped with fried shallots for added aroma & scallion, everything about this bowl was PERFECT - there’s really nothing I would change. πŸ‘πŸ»

Served medium but still as flavourful and juicy. The ends of the slab was abit too fatty for my liking though.
Geotag is off but this was taken at Izyfook.

Yet another restaurant that attempts to hipsterfy local food. Expect food that’s triple the price and triple the disappointment.

What didn’t work:
1. Beef rendang tacos that were served with stale skins and fatty meat. Cold coconut stew as well
2. White bait fish which were probably sitting in the kitchen for a little too long
3. Karage drenched in way too much sweet sauce
4. Umami fries that were essentially Macs fries coated with takoyaki sauce. Seaweed shaker fries would probably give you more satisfaction level

The only saving grace was the snapper which came with a nice refreshing relish. Although the portion could have been bigger for $18
