From the Burpple community

The Prawn Mee broth is packed with flavour and extremely addictive. Every single time, I can’t help but keep scooping and drinking it until it looks more like a sauce than soup.

The prawns were pretty plump and fall off the shell easily, while the pork ribs were quite tender and chewy albeit small.

Affordable at $5, came with 2 halved prawns and 3 pork ribs.

Soup was not overly creamy or heavy with a strong aroma of Prawn heads and pork broth.
Very different from the Beach Road Prawn Mee style of soup

My childish taste buds opted for ketchup, noodles were cooked just nicely. Pork lard was crispy, pork ribs were slightly tender and not too porky. Prawns were fresh, decent sized and well cooked.

Overall this wins Beach Road, but Beach road has a richer broth.

Decent portion for small size.
Add some paprika powder to enjoy.
They have decent coffee too.

Although Dadong Prawn Noodles in Joo Chiat remains the number one in my heart, I have to admit the one from this stall is very tasty. Theirs is the “kill-you-with-strong-prawn-flavour” style. So even though the soup isn’t the opaque sort and may seem a bit thin even, there is no denying its intensity. The prawns, served halved lengthwise with shell on, are fresh and sweet while the smallish pieces of pork ribs are tender and tasty.
If I had to choose, I would pick the dry version over the soup because I really enjoyed the savoury and slightly tangy chilli sambal used to dress the noodles.

Address: 2 Jalan Ayer, Singapore 389141.
Closest MRT station: Kallang.
Opens 8am to 3.30pm.
Closed on Tuesdays.

P.S. In case you are wondering, I prefer this stall’s infinitely more than the popular one on East Coast Road.

When you talk about the best prawn noodles in Singapore, this place is certainly amongst them. The soup is the main star with all its robustness and umami, followed by the fresh prawns and tender pig’s tail. At the same coffeeshop, do get the wu xiang / ngoh hiang to go with your prawn noodles. It is one of the better ones we’ve tried too!
