VERY WORTH IT! $14 for so much salmon!
but not much seats, suggest you to make a booking with them before heading down

Tucked away on the 3rd floor of Fortune Centre, @japanesecurryexpress is a non-pretentious restaurant that offers a range of yummy yet affordable maki rolls, sashimi, and rice bowls. Did you know they have been serving their pool of satisfied loyal customers right at that ulu spot for close to 7 years already?

👉Ebi Mango Maki - SGD12
👉Salmon Mentai Maki - SGD12
👉Salmon Sashimi (5pcs) - SGD10

In all honesty, I’m always here only for their delish maki rolls and salmon sashimi, so I probably can’t judge if their dons are good too😅. Don’t be deceived by the close-up shots as these pieces of maki are so value-for-money and huge that they close fit a wide-open mouth😮. And if you’re crazy for thick slabs of fresh salmon sashimi, here’s definitely the place to roll!

P.S. It’s pretty funny to see that most of their bad Google reviews are directed at the rude lady boss🙃

Hidden gem at bugis is finally back in business! Known for their thick cut Salmon Sashimi, Mentai Don and Ebi Mango Maki, these have been on their menu since the start!

I have been to this place for years, favourite Japanese restaurant to visit for their inexpensive and good quality food. Their fresh succulent salmon sashimi & crispy fried dishes keep me coming back!

Mentai Don, the torched salmon was so soft it slowly break apart when I pick it up with chopsticks.

Ebi Mango Maki, ebi fried upon order so it would be crispy and moist while mango is very sweet and juicy.

Salmon Belly Sashimi, these thick cut salmon is so fresh. Sashimi that is actually worth the price you are paying for.

Islandwide Delivery for Lunchtime, before 3pm only. Minimum order $100, Delivery fee $12.

Available for takeaway; call 96896314 to order

Mentai Don (L) $14
Ebi Mango Maki $12
Salmon Belly Sashimi $15

Worth Eat?
🌗 Maybe 🌗
The salmon slices were fresh and the dollop of mentai mayo certainly helped to elevate the flavours. However, what marred the experience for me was the rice!!! I was disappointed to find that the rice used in the bowl wasn’t Japanese/ vinegared rice (or at least it didn’t taste like it).

I absolutely adore mentaiko so it was disappointing to find that my mentaiko salmon bowl was slightly cold. :/ Maybe I came at a wrong time.

However, the mango roll was pretty yummy! Sweet slices of mango paired well with the battered ebi tempura!

Prices are great for fuss-free Japanese food with close friends.
