Jekyll & Hyde

2426 Wishlisted
~$40/pax
The bar is clad in deep wood and stone finishes, managing to appear both polished and raw at the same time, in a tribute to the dual personalities from which its name is derived. This ethos is immediately apparent in the bar’s offerings. You won’t soon be finding your standard, run-of-the-mill cocktails; in their place on the menu are unusual, custom concoctions that pair unique flavors and ingredients unlike anywhere else. Jekyll & Hyde encourages its patrons to communicate their beverage preferences in a concerted effort to serve what resident mixologist and cocktail genius Jeff Ho (formerly of Bar Stories acclaim) promises to be an off the menu, fully customized drink. “Everyone has a unique palette and we want to make sure that your drink is exactly what you, and only you, would want”, he adds.

This is a very interesting drink and is pretty nice. It tastes like lao ban with a alcoholic kick.

Nice ambience but 3 pax can only redeem 1 Beyond deal instead of 2 deals. Restrictive.
We could have ordered more than 3 cups in total, but we didn't coz of this restriction.
Concluded they aren't very smart in making more money then. Do note that the signature cocktail has to be the same item. Service was good.
No happy hour deals hence will find somewhere else next time.

Anyone who knows me understand it’s a completely impossible endeavour to ask me to drink (I simply don’t enjoy it); so when my friends said to try Jekyll & Hyde’s cocktails cause they’re really really easy to drink, and on Burpple Beyond as well, I was just like “aight I’ll join and you guys have your drinks, I’ll just take a sip.” Well thank goodness for persistent friends, I gotta agree their drinks are really pleasant for non-alcoholics 🙃 Their 1-for-1 signature cocktails applies to 4 creations, and the Spice My Monkey Up that we had was 👌🏻 Monkey Shoulder, lemon, honey syrup, and a delightfully warm and spicy ginger beer foam (love this) made up this drink. I’m not enough of a cocktail connoisseur to seriously critique this, but I think me enjoying it says heaps; unless of course you’re a huge alcoholic and want a really strong drink.

We ordered the signature cocktails which were stated to be 1for1 on burpple. However, we were not informed that the drinks had to be identical. It's pretty shocking since the drinks posted from previous reviews were different. When we informed the waiter about this, he referred us to his manager who was even more dismissive and rude. I showed him one of the posts by a fellow burppler in late Sep 2019, and he said 'that's in September', walking off right after. If the drinks were well-made, undiluted and of greater volume, I wouldn't be posting this. But that, along with the poor attitude and service, really put us off. Never patronising this stall again, even if the drinks are free.

The drinks were pretty well done and very unique, and we really enjoyed them. However the service was a real disappointment - the staff was rude and dismissive, which really ruined a night with friends. She also told us that we could only claim 2 Burpple offers for 6pax, when the terms stated 3 offers were allowed. Unfortunately, it could have been a much nicer night, would not be returning again.

Stated on the menu as a soya-tofu-granola blend. The taste was reminiscent of lao ban tau huay with an alcoholic tinge. Nice but a pitifully small portion barely amounting to slightly more than half a cup after allowing for the foam on top, but I guess it all contributes to its exquisiteness and leaves you craving for a second drink.
