Jianghu Hotpot remains the top spot of my hotpot list after so long. Just hit straight for the Elite Buffet and you won't regret it! Recommend the 酸菜鱼 and 猪脚 soup broths!

This is my 3rd visit here and this time brought 2 of my other friends. As usual, the food doesn't disappoint me and the food served is faster compared to my 2nd visit probably due to the timing of 2pm when we dine in and it has been a month from Circuit Breaker so lesser crowd.

It is the 2nd day of Phase 2 and time to satisfy my craving for hotpot buffet. To start the finally opening of able to dine in, I decide to spend a bit and my friend and I decided on Jianghu Hotpot which has good quality meat and the 康师傅 available free flow. Due to the given implementation of no self-service buffet, everything was ordered via menu and delivered to our table.

This is my second time here and not able to see the food and pick yourself is really a different experience. However, I'm really glad they are opened. However, as it is no long self-service, staff is much busier and lots of thing that I order didn't came and had to ask them for it and order again from the menu. I was a bit disappointed but the quality of food isn't affected so I'm glad for that. Spend a total of $42.80 ($37.80 from Chope Voucher and additional $5 for weekend whole day charges) which seems expensive for a hotpot buffet but it is totally worth it.

For someone living in the west, it is rare for me to go to the east to try food. However, my friend introduced me to this Jianghu Hotpot which he said the quality is damn nice. I decided to give it s try.

They have 2 type of buffet; Royal & Elite buffet. Just go for the Elite buffet as it offered better ingredients and the Royal buffet ingredients is very minimal with no meat slices at all.

For the Elite buffet, they offered premium meat such as rabbit meat, black pork, waygu beef & pomfret. You would not get all these ingredients elsewhere in a normal hotpot buffet at a acceptable price. They even offered those China bottled drink free flow.

Do give it a try and you wouldn't regret it. Do use eatigo & chope deal to get the Elite buffet at $37.80 (+$5 direct to merchant if on weekend & Mon-Fri from 4.30pm onwards. If on public holiday, chope voucher cannot be used while eatigo can).

First things first, the live singing only happens once every night, and the 店长will 自弹自唱 on the guitar, his voice is really nice and so it's not those noisy live bands that are sometimes annoying.

Food wise, I've been here countless times and we always go for the Elite Buffet. Just go for that cos all the more expensive meats and seafood are within that range. If you love 康师傅drinks, they are also free flow if you go for the Elite Buffet. It's really worth it cos the meats are so fresh and yummy. Featuring the newer items: 小笼包&饺子&crayfish. The xlb is surprisingly nice and full of broth inside, and it amazingly doesn't break after boiling haha.

Pro tip: peel the crayfish shells and dump them into the soup to cook for awhile to make prawn broth, it's super yummy, can make prawn noodles lol.

Being an 麻辣-obsessed Eastie it was of course a no brainer to try this newly opened hotpot restaurant at bedok point (NOT the same as Bedok mall where HDL is). Taste and presentation both great, and the promotional sets are a pretty good value (pictured set for $69++,feeds 2-3 pax). Decor is very mainland-style luxury (if you have ever lived in China you will know what I mean).
.
HOWEVER, service is lacking compared to competitors HDL, beauty in a Pot, hotpot heroes and dare I say even the shi li fang next door? Staff seem to spend a lot of time doing unimportant things like cleaning up when there is no one waiting for tables, instead of topping up soup or clearing used plates from occupied tables. They also took ages to replace the garlic from the sauce bar. So in short, hardware is good but software still lacking.
.
Perhaps some teething woes and since they are in my hood I'll give them another try when they are more settled.
.
Update : they've recently changed to a buffet format which seems to be working very well for them (and me). Veggies and smaller items are self serve and meat and seafood items are served.

💡 You can still do a la carte but that doesn't make much economical sense for couples or small groups since you can't order a huge variety of dishes.
