Checked out the newly-opened JJ Thai Premium that had opened its doors at Fragrance Hotel along Selegie Road — they are currently running a really attractive 1-for-1 mains promotion all the way till 31 December 2017.
They had ran out of Kway Teow for the Pad Khi Mao, but they still managed to whip up one with Phad Thai noodles upon my request — the version here lacks the Wok Hei and those bits of pork that makes Kra Pow's rendition taste so good but this was still hugely satisfying; the noodles managed to absorb the flavours of the savoury sauce that it was cooked with, while there were parts where it was a little zesty and fragrant with all the spices used in its cooking. While the sotong rings were decent, the prawns were plump and fresh; a little "old" but also carrying a hint of natural sweetness. Really liked how the long beans provided a crunch, while the entire dish is carries that moderately spicy kick that strays into the category of being rather spicy at times.
