Went early to get their tarts and peanut mochi. Other than the walnut cheese which is price at $1.50, the rest are $1.20 each which is cheap given the location and the economy nowadays.

I ordered the total of 8 flavours which consist of peanut mochi, portuguese egg tart, strawberry tart, sesame tart, cheese tart, walnut cheese tart, orh nee tart, sweet potato tart.

Peanut mochi taste like the typical muah chee with a bit of orh nee inside.

Portugese egg tart does not have much to shout out about

Both strawberry and sesame tart have a bit of mochi inside the tart and top layer is their respective flavour which I cannot feel much flavour.

Both the walnut cheese and cheese tart uses the same cheese which I believe is cream cheese which I feel it delicious. I can feel much of the cheese taste.

Both the orh nee and sweet potato is paste type which have ginkgo nuts at the top too. At first, I expect the ginkgo nuts would be weird as the hard and flavourless texture would not fit in a tart. However, I was proven wrong as the ginkgo nuts was prepared in a way that compliment the paste instead.

I would rank orh nee, cheese and finally sweet potato as the top 3.

Hidden at the basement of The Plaza, this old school bakery serves legit orh nee aka yam/taro paste tarts. I don't like overly sweet stuff, the orh nee sold at most places are often way too sweet and jelat. I like that their orh nee are smooth, creamy, and not too sweet, totally worth the calories. Be careful of the buttery crumbly crust, I made a mess while trying to cut the tart into half.😂 Other than the orh nee tarts, their sweet potato tarts and cheese tarts are pretty good too. Forget about the rest.🤣 These yummy tarts are often sold out by noon, so be there early or call up to preorder to avoid disappointment. ⁣

Finally got to try this! Not too sweet, smooth and the crust was crumbly and buttery 👍🏼

The thick and chewy mochi layer is made from sweet potato, filled with a generous amount of creamy yam paste then coated with peanut on the outside. Unlike those peanut mochis we get from outside, the peanut here does not come with sugar. It gives a nice and strong nutty fragrance. If you love orh nee, you would definitely love the filling in this mochi (the same filling used for the orh nee tarts) that is pleasantly fragrant and subtly sweet.

These cheese tarts have got to be one of the best and most affordable ones in the market. The buttery crust just crumbles after a bite and the core just melts in your mouth without being too cheesy and heavy. I would just have to give those Japanese cheese tart a miss and go for this at just 1/3 the price.

Orh nee tart has the same buttery and crumbly crust with yam filling and ginkgo nuts. The yam paste was fragrant, thick and subtly sweet. Simple yet nostalgic.

It was so popular that we had to place our order in advance before heading over for collection. All three of the items shown are priced at $1.20 each.

Worth that 90min queue. Orhnee not too sweet and the gingko nuts gave a good chew bite as well. So good!!!

Finally got my hands on these orh nee tarts from June Bakery! I’ve tried calling to reserve the tarts before as early as 7-8am but never succeeded 😂 Luckily, my estate was holding a group buy and I hopped on to order 😬

True to the hype, these tarts were buttery and crumbled beautifully in my mouth. I especially loved the orh nee filling, which was on point! Would definitely reorder again 😍
