$1.20 for one and omg this was SO GOOD. finally visited june bakery and snagged some tarts, went at 9:30am but the mochi was already gone😰 the orh nee paste was so smooth and silky, and yam flavour was so strong without being too sweet. the tart was the shortcrust pastry type - was pretty buttery (but not overpowering) and nice and crumbly too! wasn’t too thick. I don’t really like ginkgo nuts so I can’t comment on that, but overall really worth the hype. uncle was very friendly too:”)

Woke up at 630 in the morning to get these freshly baked goodies at 7. These babies sell out as early as 9am on some days so we really didn’t want to take a chance.

Man, we were glad we got the tarts. There was already a queue starting to form at 7+.

Value-wise, these tarts are really worth it. Selling at only $1.20 a piece, it takes about 4-5 small bites to finish one tart and it goes perfectly well with a cup of kopi. We got both the orh nee (yam) and cheese tarts.

Taste-wise, the crust was buttery, light, and not greasy at all. The orh nee (yam) tarts were just the right amount of sweet. The whole gingko nuts provided a nice chewy texture to the soft orh nee paste.

I recommend having the lighter-tasting orh nee tarts before the cheese ones, even though you usually have savory before sweet. Reason being the cheese tarts were stronger-tasting and had a refreshing tinge of lemon in them. They reminded me of a wobblier, wetter version of a New York cheesecake in tart form.

Finally got my hands on these orh nee tarts from June Bakery! I’ve tried calling to reserve the tarts before as early as 7-8am but never succeeded 😂 Luckily, my estate was holding a group buy and I hopped on to order 😬

True to the hype, these tarts were buttery and crumbled beautifully in my mouth. I especially loved the orh nee filling, which was on point! Would definitely reorder again 😍

Finally had my share today ....

Used to be able to get them in ease but these days they have got so popular -

The perils of social media 🤣

Still my most favourite Orh nee variant :)

Only Yam tart (S$1.20/pc) and cheese tart (S$1.20/pc) available when I visited the bakery in the morning after my dental appointment. Saw there’s trays of pastries but all reserved. No other upcoming as they will be busy with CNY goodies for the rest of the day.

Buttery crust with generous and smooth yam paste. Orh nee was not too sweet and for $1.20, definitely a steal. Will be back to try their other tarts and peanut muah chee.
