Kah Hiong Ngiu Chap is not the kind of restaurant you would stumble upon given its reclusive location, but this Sabah-original outlet in Puchong still manages to become a foodie destination for many. The settings are frill-free but the selections are aplenty — from steamed beef buns to boiled beef omasum. Don't come looking for your usual brothy beef noodles, the ones here come in a thick, starchy gravy with crunchy beef tripe and tender meat. The Beef Bao (RM5 for two) sounds interesting, but the soft bun falls short when it comes to nailing the filling. I found the meat within to be too dry and stringy. The Beef Stew (RM8.90) however, warms the heart with a concentrated soup and chunky, melt-in-your-mouth beef. Have everything with their power-packed chili sauce — it's so good they even sell this in individual bottles at RM17.90 a pop.
