First up was fresh green salad with sesame sauce & a tasty rich monk fish liver. The sashimi was pretty average but the trout stood out in its freshness & juiciness. The fried fish was expertly done with a nice crisp skin, as was the saba fish with its sweet-sour plum sauce. Out of the five types of #sushi, we found the fourth crustacean one the best and the second one too salty. The meal ended nicely with a light but flavorful mushroom soup & delicious japanese ice cream.

Thick slab of aburi slices of fishes on top of a bed of fluffy Japanese rice, is my kind of dinner. And that melt-in-the-mouth beef aburi sushi, certainly hit all the right notes. Thanks Bernard once more.

The only place to go, for a quiet dinner, and superb food. Take this grilled Ebi mentai ($25). Chunky tiger prawns and mushroom, grilled to perfection on a scallop shell. The mentai sauce, well-flavoured without being too jelly, and honestly being singaporean, anything mentai is always a sure win. Not to mention, Bernard is generous when it come with portions.

Chef Bernard love to please, and he is a great Friend who loves to get to know your preference and life story. Always a joy to be with him, as he is always gamed for a good night of drinks and food. This aburi sushi, is one of his many signatures. Sashimi slices are nicely cut, thick and consistent. With the flamed torch top and the drizzled sauce. Everything goes down in harmony with such flair and grace like watching sleeping beauty and her prince doing their pas de duex.

Brought our friend here because she was craving for some otoro for her bday. Misled by online list of most affordable sushi in Singapore. 3 pcs of otoro is $60. 😱 This was my fav dish of the night actually, just deep fried soft shell crab w vinegared rice and slightly sear soft shell crab on top. Well otoro is definitely expensive in Sg, but anyway it ran out and she had to settle for chu toro. Wouldn't say it was quite worth the freshness & portion. But great company always saves the day! #burpple #japanesefood #sushi #tgif
