My favourite roast goose restaurant in Hong Kong is none other than the affordable 1-star Michelin restaurant, Kam’s Roast. Recently, Kam’s Roast arrived in Singapore and I finally visited their new branch at Changi Jewel (#02-210). Although roast goose is not available in Singapore, their Roast Duck ($16.80 for lower quarter) is just as stellar - the meat is tender, juicy and fragrant and the skin is thin and not too fat. I ordered Braised Noodles with Ginger and Scallion ($6.80) to go with the roast duck and it’s delicious! The noodles are springy and the sauce is rich and flavourful. The sides are commendable too - the savoury Cured Mixed Sausages ($8.80) are not too salty or sweet, the Marinated Black Fungus with Vinegar ($6.80) is very refreshing, the Marinated Tofu ($4.80) is silky smooth and the Carrot Soup ($4.80), which was the soup of the day, is very sweet and homely. Overall, I’m glad that the food is still as good as what I had in Hong Kong and to top it off, it remains surprisingly affordable👍🏻!

Regular char siew at ~S$15++. Taste was rather good! But personally I felt it was a bit overpriced for the small portion. Worth trying anyways if you are a fan of char siew!

1/4 roasted duck at ~S$19++. Good flavour for the duck itself, but did not quite like the gravy that goes with it

Kam's in Hong Kong is famous for its roast goose but unfortunately goose is still banned in Singapore. Hence the two Kam's outlets here (the first at Pacific Place and Jewel being the second) focus on roast duck, pork (siu yoke) and char siew. The duck meat is juicy but not overly fatty (unlike some other chains that rely on their ducks' high subcutaneous fat content). Also interesting was the goose liver sausage (lup cheong) on offer. Overall a good and safe recommendation to satisfy duck noodle cravings but for the real deal do check out Kam's in Hong Kong.

Roast Duck - So tender and smooth, fragrance and goes well with their plum sauce!

Char Siew - Tender, flavourful, paired with the sweet sauce! Perfect!

Crackling Roast Pork - Crispy and the juice burst in your mouth with every bite, sinful and yummy!
