We happened to past by Don Don Donki's food court in Clarke Quay and we knew we had to get this one day.

The original mazesoba ($13, we added $1.50 for egg) came with a huge amount of different ingredients, which all blended well together after stirring everything in. Indeed flavours in this is quite complex, with umami coming from the meat sauce and the sharp flavours from the spring onions. The al dente noodles did well to catch all the sauces and ingredients!

The white vinegar is to be added halfway through the meal, when the noodles may start to get surfeiting. The added sourness reminds me of extra black vinegar on my bak chor mee, which is really welcoming!

To end off, don't forget to ask the chef for a small portion of rice to mop up all the delicious sauce 😍 Definitely a place to consider when you're here in Clarke Quay!

Top: original mazesoba @ $13.90
Bottom: spicy mazesoba + 2pcs of charsiew @ $13.90+ $2.50

Overall it's not bad and quite tasty. Can choose between original (beef + pork) meat sauce or pork meat sauce and we went with the original. Other than that, it's a lot of greens (different types of onions + seaweed).

Portion can be slightly smaller (maybe arnd 10%?) cuz the taste does get a bit one dimensional after a while.

The Spicy Maze Soba ($13.80) from Kanda Soba is the spiciest maze soba I have ever eaten - the tiny dollop of chilli goes a really long way🔥 I also tried the Original Maze Soba ($13) on another occasion and it was much more manageable for me. The thick and chewy noodles are tossed in a flavourful mixture of beef and pork meat sauce, raw egg, spring onion, chives and seaweed. A dash of vinegar helps to cut through the richness and keeps this from getting too jelak. In all, this is one delicious and satisfying bowl of maze soba!

Spicy Cream Mazesoba ($14.80)

the cream on top resembles foam instead of a heavy cream. and once it has been mixed in, the sauce is quite watery.

I chose a Lvl 2 spice level which was quite spicy but manageable if you have a high spice tolerance!🌶

🥢 Centered with a raw Egg resting on top of marinated minced Pork, Chives, Scallions, Seaweed and Bonito Powder

💬 A raw egg sitting pretty on top! Do not see that too often here in Singapore. Also, why is it so gratifying to puncture a yolk and watch it trickle down? With the creamy yolk and meat sauce, every strand of ramen was enveloped with a thick umami gravy. I even doubled down on the umami-ness by mixing in the entire heap of bonito powder, because how can I say no to more umami goodness?! The minced meat were very well marinated and paired perfectly with the refreshing fragrance from the generous amounts of chives and scallions. The noodles were amazingly thick and chewy, imparting a great mouthfeel alongside a medley of flavours as it ferries everything into your mouth. And like for all mazesoba, a drizzle of vinegar changes everything and makes it even better. My biggest gripe with this bowl however, was that the taste of pepper was too strong. It added flavour at first but as I kept eating, the dominant peppery notes eventually got too overwhelming; leaving an unpleasant aftertaste. Still a great bowl of mazesoba nonetheless!

Hidden within @donkisg dine-in food hall at @clarkequaycentral, @kandasoba.sg offers primarily their Original Mazesoba and Cream Mazesoba. For those who enjoys the heat🔥, spicy options are available too! To add on, they also have a variety of Inari Sushi (Salmon, Kimchi Bacon, Shrimp, Cream Cheese, Egg, Bulgogi) for a much complete experience😌.

Not gona lie🤥 but we were actually here solely for their unique Cream Mazesoba. In short, it’s basically Mazesoba at the bottom, with a thick layer of cream sauce that’s made of potato🥔 & coconut🥥. Looking like jelak bombs💣 for some of you, I actually managed to finish the entire bowl by myself😋. So if you’re feeling adventurous and love strong💪 flavours too, please try this for yourself😉.

As for their Original Mazesoba, it might not be the best👍 I had but definitely still enjoyable☺️!
