Pictured is the grilled small sea bass simmering in a Sichuan green pepper broth that is fit to share between 2 people. The meat was beautifully tender and fresh, and the Sichuan green pepper broth gave a numbing kick to it. I didn’t think it was too spicy and could have afforded for it to be even spicier, but the sourness from the broth was definitely appetising. This portion of fish is perfect, especially when you can add more ingredients to the grill, just like steamboat! To top up ingredients requires added cost though, and the other ingredients may be much pricier than elsewhere. That being said, very efficient and polite service and I highly recommend this if you’re around the area!

Big sized grilled fish; meat is fresh & tender; opted for more spicy but not spicy enough for my tastebud; came with red onions & potato slices; sauce is flavorful & surprisingly less salty..

Generous portion of chilled & tender meat sat on top of crunchy & juicy cucumber; topped with garlic, sesame seeds, spring onions, peanuts & chilli oil; appetizing & best for sharing..

[INVITED TASTING] Spicy Grilled Fish is something I will crave once in a while, and I'm glad @kaogeyu offers quality grilled fish sets!

The single person set ($28) consist of 1 seabass grilled fish, a couple of ingredients, a small side dish and a drink. The portion is definitely enough for 2 to share so bring a buddy along!

The Signature Sichuan Pepper Grilled Fish is quite meaty and really fresh. The spiciness level is just alright, it won't kill you, but definitely packs a punch. You can taste the sweetness of the fish through the savouriness of the soup base, which I really enjoy! Definitely very comforting especially during rainy weather.

The Mala Scallop Shrimp ($19.80) is worth a mention as well, as the seafood items were fresh and the sauce they were drenched in is simply amazing! Just the right amount of savouriness with a huge amount of garlic flavours coming through. The only downside is probably the steep price point!

To finish off, their Osmanthus Sanxian Bing Fen ($5.80) was so refreshing! Not too sweet at all, the fragrance from the Osmanthus comes through strong and complements well with the other ingredients in the dish. If I'm around the area, I would just come to this place for this dessert!

@kaogeyu is the place to go! With cute fish lanterns hanging from the ceiling, you can have an immersive dining experience by getting one of their signature flavoured grilled fish, some classic snacks/sides, SGD1 ice-cream and refreshing drinks!

Tried their Classic Sauerkraut Grilled Fish previously and wanted to order either their Signature Sichuan Green Pepper Grilled Fish or Chongqing Grilled Fish… But I guess we chickened out again HAHA

There’s no doubt that their grilled fish is fresh and tender! For the complete experience, you can also add on other ingredients (meat/seafood/vegetables) to soak in the rich tasty broth. Special mention goes out to their Mala Lala, which was really addictive!

First step into Kao Ge Yu new outlet at New Upper Changi, and you will spot the cute fish decorations! Even their plate is shaped of a fish! Had their Signature Sichuan Green Pepper Grilled Fish, together with assorted veggies as sides. The gravy is mildly spicy and flavourful, at eve sweet spot for my tastebuds. Best paired with rice.
