Tucked behind a quaint (Chinese?) bookshop, Katasumi Koohii can be easy to miss. The menu is tiny compared to many places in Singapore, but definitely because every item is quality. I can't say I love salted caramel; I generally find it too heavy- However, this is the complete balance; the lightest chiffon surrounding just the right amount of cream, the perfect amount of caramel to not overpower it and enough nuts for the right amount of textural difference. If you're like me.. You'd end up finishing this way too fast! On a weekday, it's quiet; perfect to do some light reading in a corner. You'd do right savouring the cake!

Like a Taiwanese cafe from a fairy tale, the quaint and idyllic interior of the place is relaxing.

Coffee wise, probably could have ordered something cooler, but their hand drip coffee ($6) was really not bad at all. Very forward fruity profile, complimented by a fragrant nutty finish.

This taste like any other fruit soda with yuzu peels. I would say go for their coffee or milk tea.

I really love this version of milk tea as the ratio of milk to tea is just right and it has a very light after taste. Brown sugar is usually provided but it doesn't make the coffee too sweet.

I love coming back here again and again despite their limited drinks and food menu simply because the cakes are seasonal and I am always excited to try what is new. While this roll cake is pretty expensive at 8 dollars, it was definitely money well spent as the light chocolate cream went really well with the strawberries.

The cake was really not too sweet with a rich chocolate flavour and the sweetness of the poached pears balanced the flavours out.
