Rasa Sedap Seafood is a halal zi char stall at @kedaikopisg, and theyโve got quite an extensive menu. However, nothing jumped out at me as much as the Three Flavour Prawn Rice ($6 nett), and thatโs what I got for dinner that day.โ
โ
While Iโm glad for the inclusion of a fair amount of veggies into the dish, the rest of it was pretty disappointing. There werenโt many shrimp in the fry-up, and the overbearingly spicy sauce which tasted like a curious mix of assam & tom yum wasnโt salty enough to balance out the sour spiciness. Worse still, it mightโve made my stomach a bit queasy the next day.โ
โ
Fortunately, it was only six bucks, so Iโll take this as another lesson learned.
I finally got around to dining at @kedaikopisg second outlet at Haig Road, and I found out that Kedai Kopi has already opened up a third outlet. Yes, I am perennially late to the party, but the flavour party donโt stop at Kedai Kopi, and especially not with @tenderfreshsg.โ
โ
Itโs been a long while without having Tenderfreshโs terrific fried chicken, and it is as beautiful as the last time I devoured it. The brilliantly battered skin is beautifully blistered & gorgeously golden brown, and each bite of seductive skin elicits an epic crunch. Unfortunately, in the pursuit of earth shatteringly crispy skin, the outer layer of chicken meat has sacrificed its juicy moisture for the cause.โ
โ
Fortunately, the deeper you penetrate, the moister it gets. The seasoning on the chicken is simple yet stellar, boasting a mouthwatering medley of spices, salt & pepper that is sure to satisfy your palate. Itโs a ridiculously delicious fried chicken that can compete with and probably will beat many restaurants that also offer deep fried chicken.โ
โ
Twoโs company? Hell naw, two ainโt enough. Think two dozen instead.
๐ฃAttention to all spicy food lovers! Located within @kedaikopisg (Haig Road Outlet), is a Muslim hawker stall @malamama.sg specialising in ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ข๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฎ๐จ. I like it that they have a wide variety of fresh ingredients to choose from and at affordable pricing!
The special part about @malamama.sg is that they either deep fry or boil the ingredients before mixing them in a house-special mala sauce. As such, ingredients such as Ring Rolls were super crisp and crunchy!
I find their concept pretty interesting as itโs like mala rojak! I personally find their mala sauce to be quite different from the usual - although it does not have the distinct mala spice fragrant nor the numbness, the sauce was sweet and spicy with the spiciness kicking in after a few mouthful. Super addictive!
Another dish worth trying is their ๐๐จ๐๐ญ-๐๐ก๐๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐๐ซ๐๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ๐ฌ. At $9.90, youโll get 2 crisp soft-shell crabs with a side of golden fries, drenched in mala sauce. This is a good side dish for sharing!
If youโre looking to try something spicy yet different, hit @malamama.sg up!
The gravy was spicy, sweet with a hint of Peanut sauce, and the numbness was mild so not overpowering.
It's very interesting, like eating rojak mix with mala.
@malamama.sg have 3 different sets, start from $5.9 to $7.5 and softshell crab delights that comes with fries.
