The service was great and the preparation of the food is fast.

Among their outlets, Kei Kaisendon’s spot in Marina Square is tucked in a cozy corner just opposite Putien. They serve up a variety of kaisendons, with toppings like unagi, hotate, and ebi mentaiyaki. There’s a range of sides as well, on top of options to top up your bowls to sets. We liked the ebi mentaiyaki which were fresh, but the tuna cubes were a little too mushy. Marinate was the light sort with a mix of salmon, tuna and swordfish. Portion of rice could be bigger.

Thank you Sherry and @keikaisendon.sg for the kind invite! ✨

Other than the Ebi Mentaiyaki Kaisendon ($19.90), we got to try the kaisendon with their hotate. Similarly, we liked the hotate more than the sashimi cubes. They were plump and fresh, marinated lightly which retained its original sweetness. Would be nice to have slightly more rice and less cucumbers in the mix.

Didn’t realise that there are differences in the burpple set between outlets! This one ($25.90) is slightly cheaper, but comes with mentaiko tamago (instead of ebi) and without green tea. The sweetness of the tamago balances the savoury mentaiko! The bara chirashi here has great variety - our bowls had scallop and prawn in addition to the usual salmon, yellowtail, whitefin and octopus (no tuna though). Whilst not usually included in a typical bara chirashi, those are really premium items!! I’d probably come back to this outlet for that reason alone.

Ordered both the Kei signature and the Mentaiko. Sashimi is cut into small cubes and are very fresh. Quite a generous amount of sashimi! The set comes with miso soup, mentaiko tamago(2 pcs), and the don. Best part of it is that with burpple beyond, it was $27 for 2 bowls. Take not that they don't serve water or green tea.
