After 2 years at SMU, this is my FIRST time trying Kenboru and I find it really worth for the price! This was $5.90 for SMU students($1 disc). Don’t usually eat chicken skin unless it’s fried but ate it today bc the mentaiko sauce was all over it hahaha but surprisingly everything was still good. 👍🏼

Back here again for the 2nd time to try another fusion bowl with a different choice of protein. Given a free option to have the highly addictive torched mentaiko sauce over my chicken thigh, it’s impossible to resist. The meat was pretty succulent but sadly the teriyaki flavour was overpowered by the charred mentaiko sauce. I guess you can’t have the best of two worlds 😂. Love it nevertheless 😋

Situated in the basement of SMU School of Information Systems, @kenboru_sg is a hidden gem that specialises in healthy Japanese Western Fusion Bowls. At pocket-friendly prices, these bowls can be customised with your own choice of protein, base and optional add-ons. All bowls will then come with Japanese cucumber, cherry tomatoes, preserved pickles and a sous vide egg.

Featured is one of their most popular torched rice bowls. More than just being aesthetically pleasing, every part of the dish was executed well, and came together to create a harmony of flavours. A gastronomy experience indeed.
