From the Burpple community

Tucked in quiet corner in seedy cuppage, Keira does a ridiculous Uni Pasta ($38) Served chilled, it’s rich, creamy and bursting with umami. The addition of ikura pearls do nothing to balance the flavors of the sea but heck I ain’t complaining. Best ordered to share.

Community favourite Keria racks up points for its underrated but oh so delicious Japanese fare. Get the value-for-money Tempura Set Meal, which comes with expertly batter-fried morsels AND super fresh sashimi. A group of three to four is perfect for this spot, so you'll have tummy space to share the addictive Mentaiko Cabbage ($8) and luxe Uni Spaghetti ($21) too!

This, by far is our most underrated Japanese izakaya. Prices are within the affordable range and their menus were all in Japanese until they realized that they should add in English translations for customers like us 😂 Uni, tamagoyaki, ikura and fresh thick slices of scallops, yellowtail, snapper, tuna, mackerel, octopus were overflowing the bowl. We had to share one bowl of chirashi as we also had the Mentaiko pasta (their portions are 👍🏼). We assure you that you wouldn’t be disappointed if you’re looking for an authentic Japanese restaurant in town.

The crispy seaweed gave a nice crunchy texture to the natto - perfect for those people who are intimidated by the slimey natto. And such a rarity in Singapore to find natto being done this way.

Always enjoy myself at Keria. The sets are impeccable because of the Super fresh sashimi that comes with it. I particularly like their tempura - 3 Prawns, Shiso leaf, Mushroom, Lady's Finger, Eggplant and Sweet Potato - all expertly fried in the thinnest and crispest of tempura batters. Aside from this set, get an order of the Kaki Fry - battered and fried oysters that are just creamy and wonderful! Also can never leave without a plate of their Mentaiko Cabbage. If you're feeling indulgent and have about 4 people at your table, share their sinfully good Uni Spaghetti that's served cold.

Fab Japanese meal and experience last week with @riinns in this cosy Japanese restaurant. Everything was so good it was super difficult to pick a favourite dish! Apart from the other smaller dishes, we got this Uni Spaghetti as a sharing main. Loved the creaminess and butteriness in the capellini with fresh pieces of uni sitting on the top. We think there’s already some uni tossed in before serving, so we’d say to leave the fresh pieces out and taste it on its own before deciding if you want to mix them in.
