It already sounds a bad idea without KFC. Once KFC enters the picture, it's definitely a bad idea. Conceptually, replacing the carbs with meat like Double Down is a bad start, but then re-adding carbs in the form of macaroni is just convoluted. Execution-wise, using breast meat is already facepalm, the macaroni was shocking. It was dry and hard, looking like it's microwaved, overnight or dehydrated.

Replacement for out-of-stock fries. Usually I'll pick fries over wedges but I was surprised by this. Most pieces were slim and crispy, further enhanced by cheese powder.

I've always thought KFC Singapore is poorly run and their seasonal items are terrible. They have a rare win now. This burger can dethrone Zinger. The patty uses KFC's Original Recipe, which can be polarising on its chicken, but is perfect here. Further elevating it is the delicious pepper mayo.

You might think the key difference from the previous Double Down is the waffle. That's certainly nice. But it is the chicken, which is KFC Original, not Hot & Crispy. I was quite quickly sickened. Maple mayo helped though.

The first bite was memorable, because it's something different from KFC. But the decision to put both cheese and truffle on KFC crispy chicken, which is already flavourful, meant I was jelak quickly. And talk about how faint truffle is most of the time - here I really only got one bite of it.

As good as I remembered it, except it comes as tenders now, which means no bones. I also don't remember KFC's tenders being actually tender, so this was a huge plus.
