Another thing I indulgently love are desserts, and while the stomach capacity was at its brim with spread we were treated to, everyone was all ready to have the stuffed donuts they’ve heard about. Both variants with fillings that are made in-house, the yellow green hued Kaya had the table nodding in satisfaction. I’ve also had enough Kaya spread to agree that Nassim Hill’s version was authentic and not your saccharine sort, an excellent component for their desserts. It was then a no brainer that we had their kaya cake as the last dessert to end off the meal.
I sheepishly had the privilege to sample some of the ladies cocktails at Nassim Hill even though the sun had not set. Then I learnt from Brenda that Prosecco is free flow for ladies on Wednesday & Thursday evenings with a minimum spent- sounding like a great GNO idea.

Elation was my response when I received the Burpple Eat Up invitation to Nassim Hill Bakery that now takes the space of 2nd level of Singapore Post Office (Killiney Road).
We started with a tangy and spicy tomato prawn broth that everyone wiped our individual bowl clean off. Then a tangy Asian beef salad of which I found the vegetables a bit too raw for my liking.
For sharing, the popular cheddar cheese bacon waffles here is a delicious savoury variant for waffle lovers. Thoughtfully there is a sour cream chives dip to pair with the brunch item. Also another item good for sharing would be the truffle pizza which comes as a paper thin biscuit base with messily throw together premium items like truffle paste, quail egg, and cheese - a finger-licking good mess to have.

Ugly? Oh but this is the epitome of delicious - Trust Me Try It

But if there’s one thing I’d like to return to Nassim Hill for, it would be the green spinach cream potato gnocchi with Brussels sprout and zucchini- a vegetarian’s dream come true. I first thought the green paste was pesto but learnt otherwise; also the potato gnocchi specially procured from an Italian restaurant ,we were told, is very good pasta. Lastly, if you can’t get enough of the well sautéed and exteriorly charred Brussels sprout, that in Brenda’s words were a hit with her friends whom disliked vegetables; like I did, u can have a whole bowl from the sides menu.
