I remember eating this very affordable Korean food during uni and though the prices have inflation a bit, they still provide value for money Korean cuisine. The kimchi beef soup is comforting and warms your body on a cold day. Saba fish is over cooked and dry, don’t recommend it.

Been long since I last visited this Korean eatery, and it is as wholesome and delicious as I remembered. Do not expect mind blowing standards and ambience from this place, as the food served here are more focused on being homely and affordable. I had the Spicy Bean Paste Seafood Stew with white rice ($10) and it came generous with many seafood and vegetable ingredients! The soup is like a mix of dwenjang jjigae and kimchi stew, taking good points from both styles making this really satisfying. We also got a Spicy Chicken Set ($9) and the chicken slices were so tender and flavourful! Love the portions and how wholesome the meal is here. If you are looking for something affordable in town, this is a good option!

my regular order at kim dae mun has got to be their beancurd soup and change the seafood to chicken. forego the rice to get $1 off your order as the soup with all the liao is more than enough to fill the tummy. not sure what they add into their soup or is it msg but it tastes so.damn.good. tried their sides like dumplings, pancake and egg but they are nothing much to shout about. their kimbap is good though! friend ordered their bibim guksu but it got too sour halfway through.

🍴Serving affordable and hearty classic Korean dishes, it’s no wonder that this Korean restaurant has been operating for years now with a constant crowd. For the price and generous portions, it’s certainly value for money and worth a visit when the Korean cravings hit. However, don’t go in with high expectations as it’s pretty standard fare more akin to the quality of those in food courts/ homecooked food.

We tried:
Bean paste soup ($8.50) - Hearty and flavourful soup with a good level of spicy kick. Comes with a generous serving of various seafood and vegetables.

Spicy shredded chicken ($9) - Sauce was more sweet than spicy but enjoyed the tender meat mixed with vegetables.

Each main comes with a choice of side. Their kimchi was mostly sweet, would not recommend 😅 whilst the fried anchoives fared better, especially when paired with the soup.

We both ordered the chicken bulgogi. Ngl it tasted so so. We’ve had better Korean bulgogi from kopitiam…

The kimchi side dish was a little too sour for our liking. But the ikan bilis was nice, they gave quite a bit also which is good.

Would come back for the egg omelette though

Hard GO ✅ Nett prices, huge portions, delicious food, extremely fast service!

KDM has been around forever and I’ve walked past many times but never gone in. Yesterday was the 1st time and definitely not the last!

2 of us had the chicken bibimbap and kimchi tofu stew that cost only $18 in total (about the price of 1 appetiser / main at other places). Both dishes were flavorful and delicious - the bibimbap had bits of charred rice at the bottom, which I love! The portions were generous and we left the white rice that came with the stew untouched. Most impressively, the food was ready almost immediately before we got to our seats. Would 100% go back for some value for money korean food 🥘
