Liked the noodles, which were springy (tho it could be slightly more al dente) and coated in a savoury-sweet lardy sauce that was v flavourful. The charsiew was unfortunately the red colouring type which I don’t like, but this was thankfully not dry and thin - was actually reasonably tender, and the sauce helped to moisten it. Came with a crunchy fried wanton, and 2 soup wantons. Wanton skins were slightly alkaliny, not my fav, but slippery smooth; the meat filling was seasoned properly, except they used pepper which I don’t prefer. But still rather decent wantons. Veg was p standard. Overall, thought this was pretty decent, will probably try the dumpling noodles next time.

Waited in the queue for over 25mins.

Mind you, I lined up on a public holiday, so maybe that’s why

The gravy is good. No bland at all. Spicy with tomato sauce taste.

The noodles were cooked just right.

The wanton is good and the char siew is juicy.

👍👍

(#01-35) Recommended by my friends who regularly frequent this hawker centre. No regrets. For $3, you get both soup wantons & fried wantons. The noodles had a good bite. I also saw a pot of marinated char siew in the kitchen, so perhaps they prepare their own char siew too.

Everything about this Wanton Mee stall is superb. Its Singapore old school style. Ordered a bowl @ $4/- instead of $3/-. From their springy Mee Pok noodles right to their Char Siew covered by their well balance sauces & chilli, I literally slurped the noodles not caring what my next tables think about me. Damn! There goes my white shirt. Lovely Wednesday morning... burp .. I will be back !!!

Cycled here for Joseph Schooling's fav carrot cake (Bee Bee) but it was closed (sigh). Settled for this wanton noodles stall which had a long queue. Still prefer Kok Kee any day.

First time trying this out, was surprised at how much gravy came with these noodles at first and was expecting it to be so spicy. (It was perfectly mildly spicy) Boy was this noodles so so good! The noodles were springy and well coated with the gravy, and the lean char siew a perfect accompaniment to the rich sauce. The wantons were lovely too. Definitely worth queuing up for! Will be back.
