E curry is unique , its much spicer and stronger than the normal Jap curry .

While the border continue to close, it is glad to see some oversea restaurants opening here.

This including the recent opened Kimukatsu from Japan at Takashimaya. Famous for their 25 layer of thinly sliced meat together.

The Kimukatsu set for $14.90 is the best option for those who is first time trying this, and you get to choose either pork or chicken.

The set will comes with the fresh cabbage, sauce, rice and miso soup.

Original Kimukatsu Set
tenderloin mille-feuille cutlet, rice, miso soup, cabbage and pickles

The mille-feuille katsu was very dry and the meat taste bland. The rice was less than half filled, overall don't enjoy the meal.

They offer multiple flavours of tonkatsu (original, cheese, garlic, black pepper, ume, yuzu kosho) which is really unique in Singapore imo. You can get sets or order multiple flavours alacarte - would recommend the latter to try diff flavours :) My personal fave was yuzu kosho which was light, refreshing and slightly spicy; or the garlic which was uber savoury!!

Originaru($14.90)🀭
Known for their thinly sliced pork that is uniquely and delicately stacked into 25 layers then encased by breaded crumb and deep fried to perfection. Crispy on the outside but not juicy on the inside like they advertised.πŸ™„
I find it way too dry and dull to savour without dipping any sauce to it. Am glad there is Tonkatsu & Shoyu sauce to pair with else its humdrum.πŸ€—

Ume Shiso($16.90)🀯
The mysterious bomb of tanginess and saltiness coming out from within the katsu is just phenomenon. The overwhelming taste of Ume Shiso powering the whole katsu can leave you without dipping into any sauce to appreciate flavours on its own.

Each Set comes with moist, sticky, pure & fresh pearl-size koshihikari rice, fresh shredded cabbage with Japanese sesame dressing, refreshing cirtusly pickles(Takuan & Shibazuke) and free flow of hot & comforting umami miso soup.

Look at the generous size of the THICK and crispy the panko-breaded pork loin was, it was 25-layers of juiciness fried to perfection! The meat was tender and juicy with good amount of meat and fats ratio, well balanced with sweet Tonkatsu sauce layer between the Japanese milk bread. IT WAS SO SATISFYING! - if only the bread is toasted, this pork sandwich would be PERFECT! πŸ˜‹
