This food stall is located roadside along Jalan Raja Uda in mainland, recognised by the Michelin Guide. Misai Mee Jawa constantly attracting the locals during the day.

Most people came here for their signature mee jawa, which is something unique. Topped with a crispy biscuits on the top of wet noodle. The soup is something between sweet, sour and spicy. Very simple meal but comforting and light.

Also featured as Michelin Guide’s Bib Gourmand, this popular food stall is located at the mainland side of Penang.

Ming Qing used to be just a food stall on the road side, before moving to current location with tables and seats.

What made this place unique is the use of duck egg to fry their char kway teow here. The taste is definitely stronger and don’t forget to add the fried duck egg as well.

Listed as one of the places in Michelin Guide's Bib Gourmand, Rasa Rasa at George Town is where you could get some decent local style of breakfast meals.

Their pandan nasi lemak is something very unique for their offerings of ingredients.

Lots of items on just one plate here, which you would get pretty full after that.

New in town is Zok Noodle House, a Chinese restaurant chain hailing from Malaysia specialising in HK & Macau dishes. Their menu is extensive and well-put together, with every flip of the page making me want to try something new. Seriously, the menu makes every single dish featured look so damn good!

We settled on the Milky Soup Pork Noodles ($13.90) and the Curry Noodles ($13.90). The broth of the pork noodles had a surprising depth of flavour with the milkiness and garlickyness coming together well with the rich pork broth. Loved the multitudes of pork belly slices, minced meat chunks, and pork liver within too. The curry noodles were also decent, with rich curry broth accompanied by charsiu, wantons, taupok, Beancurd skins and a scattering of veges. However, this couldn't compare to the Ipoh-stylr curry mee that's still my love.

Don't forget the self-service condiments bar for those who need chilli to complete their meal - their sambal is legit delicious, spicy and complete with chunks of haebee to give an umami bite. Finish the meal with a a simple but comforting cup of HK-style Milk Tea ($3.50 +$1 iced).

This is a specialty dish only available during the Guinness flavour by fire event

Can’t believe this place has been situated quietly at a corner of Straits Quay for more than 10 years already, and they still going strong by providing the best of coffee from around the world.

They have filter coffee from a different regions here, which I gotten the one from Yolan Tirta Tombang, Sullawesi, Indonesia.

The flavour is natural process with passion fruit, pineapple and lychee. So you would expect a bit of sour side.

This Japanese restaurant has a long history in Penang, and it is popular among the locals.

They served valuable set lunch and dinner like this one. The special lunch bento comes with unagi, chicken teriyaki, fried vegetables and sashimi.

So basically you get to taste everything in one bento. The set also includes chawanmushi, miso soup and sliced fruits.

When you visit the Kuan Yin Temple, you would find this cafe directly opposite it.

A cozy cafe with air-conditioned space downstair and open air upstair, serving brunch and coffee.

Definitely a good spot to rest and chill after making your pray at the temple.

One of the ice cream chain in Malaysia that has been opened a few outlets across the cities.

Beside their ice cream, they also sell beautifully crafted cakes as well.

Went to their outlet in Penang and gotten myself this flavour made of raspberries with lychee and rose sorbet.

Refreshing and vegan.

This street already start getting busy as the sun rise up, with people swarming this street to grab their breakfast.

Lot of options already start opening in the morning, and one of them would be this standalone porridge shop called the Chok Kee.

Chok Kee sell pork intestine, peanut and century egg version of porridges. If you acceptable for pork intestines, you would love their fried one on the top.

Generous ingredients in the porridge and full of taste.
