Did you know @koal.grill dining by @lesamisgroupsg has set lunch menu (11.30am - 2.30pm) - get main, sides and desserts starting from $23 ✨
…
been hearing good reviews but wanted to have a more affordable taste first 👅 so got their Iberico Pork Collar Set ($27) and Grassfed Rib eye Set ($31) - the meat are both done well and juicy✨ slightly confused by what cuisine is it with the grilled meat, kimchi, lao gan ma tofu starter 😅 followed by choice of aiyu jelly or hojicha tiramisu but overall it’s a good lunch set 💕and you can use @chopesg discount voucher 😉
With quite some liberty to live to eat on the weekends recently - it feels like we are on a “streak” to clock different les amis food group concept #1
First a dinner date with mum at KOAL that I’ve bookmarked for awhile and the food does not disappoint. The 2 mains we had were starkly a hit and a miss. The tiger prawns was the former, 2 succulent ones to be exact in white wine butter sauce that were so easy to polish we wished there was more. Then the latter cut of steak we got was decent but forgettable, probably the blame on us for getting the “cheapest” cut.
I’d love to return to try other plates, and KOAL is another good place for different occasions that doesn’t exactly break the bank.

First a dinner date with mum at KOAL that I’ve bookmarked for awhile and the food does not disappoint. The signature slightly sweet white bread rolls were great to start with and vaguely reminds me of our soft Asian bread while being fancy with chive butter, sour cream (incorporated) and bacon bits.
I love trying different renditions of broccoli small plates and this one at KOAL hits the spot with Japanese flavors of sesame dressing, bonito flakes and a tangy savoury soy pickled onions to complement the richer flavors.
A very very simple dessert, exactly as it sounds
Consists of choice of starter, donburi, and choice of dessert
The pork collar was somewhat tough, but otherwise it's okay, has a little bit of that fatty crunch and some char as well. Kimchi was sharp and nice, shrooms had wok hei. Mixing everything w the egg really works pretty well, the kimchi's heat takes over but is suppressed by the egg
Overall it's alright, the meat being the main didn't impress as much as it should have. Plus it's only 100g, guess it's alright for the price tho
