Went to Hototogisu Ramen about two weeks ago and ordered their Black Spicy Ramen ($13.90) and added on a ramen egg ($3) and their set with gyoza and iced tea ($4.90)!πŸ˜‡

Was super full after this bowl but really enjoyed it! Broth was very addictive and noodles were quite unique (white ramen instead of yellow ramen?)πŸ˜… Overall ratings 9/10! Would definitely visit againπŸ‘πŸ»

We decided to get the signature dish at the Konjiki Hototogisu outlet at Great World City - the oyster paitan ramen! While there are no actual oysters served, the restaurant serves the bowl of ramen with oyster paste, which gives the broth a slightly briny taste. This was a pretty nice contrast with the creamy tonkatsu base, made from simmering the broth with pork bones for a really long time! πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ We felt that the best part of the dish was the broth, which turned out to be really rich.

The char siew was pretty tender as well although we were slightly baffled by the use of arugula, which seems like a pretty unconventional vegetable to be used for ramen. For $15.50++, we felt it was rather worth it due to the awesome broth, although the serving size was honestly a little underwhelming... 😰 It was pretty easy to get a seat at the restaurant as well, plausibly because Great World City is a little challenging to get to!

Oyster Paitan Ramen ($15.90), Chawanmushi with Oyster Paste ($5.90). I love oysters, both cooked and raw, so I was surprised that I didn't enjoy either of these dishes. I really wanted to like them πŸ˜• Flavours were just too funky for me

Only available at the great world city outlet, this great ramen was out of this world. The broth was superb; rich, creamy and a total umami bomb. Ramen places here should really start experimenting with such ingredients.

Great for people who likes oyster and the smell or it. Cannot find it elsewhere. I'm not a fan of oyster, and the normal pork base soup is not bad as well! Bonus for oyster lover: try the oyster chawannushi!!

Rich and creamy. Personally, i feel that the umami taste can be stronger. 🍜
