I liked that they used rice straw at their chatuchak booth :-) Was told that it is edible (haha, but I wasn’t hungry enough to devour it) priced at $4, pretty reasonable! Not too sweet, and just right :) Was told that the sweetness was non-customisable tho. They also used plastic of really good quality!

Definitely spoilt for choice here! Chose something out of my norm with their Honey Oolong Tea ($2.50) - the first sip was really sweet, but the bitter depth of oolong comes through after.

Perfect for lunch with the colleagues is this no frills joint serving hearty local dishes in Toa Payoh. Fans of herbal broths, you'll adore their Bak Kut Teh ($5) that sees tender pork ribs in a rich broth. Alternatively, go with their creamy and fragrant Laksa ($4).

A relatively new addition to the neighbourhood, I was pleasantly surprised to find it helmed by young people! Got a kopi gao siewdai bing ($1.90, small) while having lunch next door. It’s easily one of the best around - thick, smooth, and filling. Plus points for the use of reusable cups and straws!
