Chirashi Don which is a glittering ensemble of fresh sashimi cubes, tamago, a liberal sprinkling of ikura, and a bed of Japanese pearl rice.

This sashimi don was extremely fresh, with thick cuts of salmon, tuna, yellowtail, ika and prawn sashimi 🍣🍱
Definitely a great spot for lunch in the CBD!

Kotobuki’s aburi salmon bakumori don is an actual dream. It’s a mountain of rice, layered with chunky cubes (!!) of salmon sashimi, slathered with mentaiko mayo, and aburi-ed to perfection! The portion was incredibly generous, especially since I was only expecting thin salmon slices. The bowl, although smaller than I had thought, was piled full, and this was definitely enough for two people, with another side dish we ordered.

I went to the tanjong pagar outlet, which has since very sadly closed down, but the experience was amazing. It looks a little dodgy from the outside, but the inside deco is charmingly Japanese and slightly dim. Also, I could see through a little crack in the counter how the chef assembled it, which was a real treat. The amazing charred salmon smell wafted towards us when he blowtorched the flesh and I told my bf there and then that we should get a blowtorch too to aburi all sashimi 🤣. Kotobuki is a really underrated place to me and should be frequented a lot more!

With a tinge of torched cheese flavour, this dish was a guilty pleasure. The potatoes at the bottom was a little dry, could have smashed it lightly and added abit less cheese and more butter and milk perhaps for more moisture. With the eatigo 50% off promotion, this was a steal at $5! For all you potato lovers out there with a budget, come and try this out!

8 pieces and with the eatigo promo, at 50% off, this was a steal for $6.50! Yummy! Decent makis, huge and coated generously with fish roes. I love avocados and this was awesome with the huge slices of avocado in it :)

The soup was abit bland, but with the eatigo promo, it was a steal at $7.50! Egg was not bad, and noodle was springy, could have put the seaweed separately to prevent it from being soggy.
