From Sin Cuisine 新一代 at Koufu Cathay Cineleisure; the name also runs another branch at Ang Mo Kio where Roast Paradise used to be.

Going for their Roast Pork and Char Siew Noodles, the latter was pretty much almost the same as what Roast Paradise offers; the caramelised exterior of the Char Siew being fairly sweet, whilst also carrying a slight crispness on certain parts, while the meat was fatty and melt-in-the-mouth — great to have even on its own. The Roast Pork was a little different using a different spice rub that is still immensely savoury though may be a little dry to some, with a crisp skin over the top. Noodles come tossed in a light sauce that is slightly different from that of the usual ones that are used in other stalls, though still rather savoury though not particularly heavy-handed; the noodles also differing slightly from the typical roast meat noodles by carrying a firmer texture with a bite. A pretty underrated option in the food court, and certainly a value-for-money eat at the usual food court prices; something I would certainly have again another time if I am in the area.

Don’t be fooled by the picture, this bowl of goodness can feed up to 3 pax. Found hidden at the basement foodcourt of Cineleisure, this bowl - filled with cabbage, crab stick, meatballs and loads of meat and two portions of instant noodles - cost $27.65. Wouldn’t say it’s the cheapest mala out there, but it’s pretty decent compared to the other mala stalls around town area.

Spice level wise, I would say it’s more “辣” than “麻”, which is what I personally prefer. The instant noodles they use aren’t the usual ones from the packet, it is definitely more fragrant than the pale yellow ones!

Their specially marinated chicken thigh made me crave for this mala for days!!! It is really yummy, the overall base and the selection of ingredients is good. This definitely goes into my top 3 mlxg! This is koufu and cineleisure btw.

$5 but I added an egg so $6. I didn't really like this. Regretted it and didn't finish it. Go to the Fish and Chicks stall if u go here instead!

I love the sizzling sound of hotplates - it just adds another dimension to the meal experience.

Even though it was supposedly mala, and there were a few chili seeds, it wasn’t spicy. There was in fact some sweetness to the ingredients, making it palatable and just right with the rice. The soup was peppery broth. The portion was just right, as too much of the sauce will make you feel surfeited.

Located inside Koufu at the basement of Cinelesiure Orchard. For $6.30 you can get a big portion of fried chicken, comes with rice and soup.
