This came high recommended by a friend, who loves the chili. What she forgot to tell me was that it was extremely spicy. I mixed in less than 1/4 of it into my noodles and I needed water after the first mouthful. This was the watery type of prawn Mee, which was what I preferred. Nice.

From Mee Pok Master. There were minced meat, braised pork ribs, prawn, abalone slices, sliced mushrooms and fish ball. Quite a lot of ingredients. Soup was very flavorful.

A rare find at kopitiams or food court; this Claypot Chicken Rice is packed with generous servings of green veg, wholesome chicken (breast meat!!!) and lap cheong. Love the tinge of saltiness from the salted fish with every spoonful of rice. I highly recommend opting for their sambal chili and pass on the chili padi. This pot, large enough to feed 2 hungry souls or 3 small eaters cost only $8.80!

New comer: ”蒸健康” aka Steam-Healthy is steaming up a storm! For a $3.50/portion, u get to quality smooth and shivering custard underpinned by a generous portion of well-seasoned minced pork, sooooo homely! My top choice!

Alternatively, u may opt for a more savory yet gentle variant that has been boiled for hours with lotus roots & pork ribs. The dried cuttlefish lends a memorable flavor while the peanuts adds a classic oriental touch. The lotus retains its crunchiness but not raw while the ribs are quite soft though I wish it could be more fork-tender. Chose either a bowl of pumpkin rice or plain rice to complete the meal. Very homely!
