1-for-1 Mezzi Rigatoni Amatriciana Aged Pork Cheek, Pecorino, Chilli, White Wine, Tomato Sauce

Dreamily rich, the creamy soft chocolate tart was cradled in a crumbly and buttery short crust. And balance be damned, let's throw in a sinful streak of salted butter caramel to amp up the intensity as well. Reprieve came in the form of Amarena cherries, cutting through the heavy dessert with the lush, refreshing sweetness of syrup-soaked berries carrying a hint of bitterness.

The chilli, white wine and tomato sauce tangled with aged pork cheek packed a moreish, spicy punch, oozing from the cylindrical rigatoni which had a toothsome bite and served as the perfect vehicle for carrying the sauce. Dusted with shavings of pecorino, the combination was ebulliently umami.

A most aesthetically pleasing start to the meal, this refreshing cold appetiser of poached crab married with avocado, roma tomato, lime zest and garlic crema is at once rich and vibrant yet delicate. The generous portion ensures that you'll run out of crostini to spread the dip on before you're done, but luckily, La Scala serves a free flowing bread basket.

I was sold on the basis of seafood being the core ingredient in this pasta, however it was sorely lacking in the presence of the advertised seafood reduction and grated mullet bottarga. What I got instead was a decent spicy tomato-based sauce coating al-dente pasta and a handful of fresh, succulent prawns. Tasty, no doubt, but not what I was expecting.

Italian food without breaking the bank 🇮🇹 ✨

The 𝗠𝗲𝘇𝘇𝗶 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗶 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗮 ($𝟮𝟲) came with aged pork cheek, pecorino, chilli, white wine & tomato sauce. Another main that we tried is the 𝗢𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝗹 𝗣𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗼 & 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘇𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮 ($𝟮𝟱).

If you're visiting on a weekday, their 2/3-course set meals begin from $21++ and sounds quite worth! Since we visited on a weekend, that was unavailable and we used the 1-for-1 promotion on burpple instead.
