How is it that most ee-fu noodles taste bad lol. Finally a decent rendition and it's clearly the best I've had(I don't eat ee-fu noodles v often). They circumvent the usual sogginess by using thinner noodles that aren't as absorbent, but it's paired w a strong sauce that's also much much fragrant than the usual ones, so it goes well and the noodles are still flavourful. Striploin isn't half bad either.

Only complaint is that there's nowhere to hide from the cigarettes smoke, the seats only extend so far inside, not early far away enough from the outdoor tables(where they are smoking)

And I thought all I wanted at Lady Wu was a good session of ktv over drinks with friends. Lady Wu is this newly-minted rooftop bar in the heart of Boat Quay, formally known as The Mad Men Attic Bar. Who knew that their food was good too.
🔸
A few dishes stood out especially - 辣子鸡 spicy fried chicken, wagyu beef cubes and this lobster fried rice. The lobster was deshelled, grilled till it has a slight smoky char, and remaining succulent within, with none of that rubbery texture that many other lobster may come with. Even the fried rice was well fried, remaining 粒粒分开.
🔸
And while I was surprised by the standard of the food here, I checked out Head Chef Alvin Tan's credentials - he is backed with more than a decade of experience, worked with Les Amis and Xin Divine, and was once the head chef at Fullerton Boathouse.

Chill with your friends over some drinks and bar bites with a bilingual Mandarin and English live music and panoramic view of Singapore's Central Business District. Get the private karaoke room for a big party up to 20 pax and belt out the tunes. I also like their LED menu, perfect when the night falls! The name suggests, Lady Wu, is inspired by Empress Wu Zetian China’s Only Female Ruler. So yay! Ladies get to enjoy special privileges like 1 for 1 drinks from Monday to Friday, 5PM to 8PM. Gentlemen don't be disappointed, you also get to enjoy 1 for 1 oyster every Monday! Featuring Rich and creamy salted egg sauce coated thickly over fried chicken wings. There are some chopped chilli padi thrown in adding a little spicy kick to this dish.

Salted egg wings at S$12.
Cocktail starting from S$15.

Finding a place to go tonight or over the weekend?👯‍♀️ check out @ladywu.sg in the heart of Singapore river area✨ taking over the previous mad man attic, @ladywu.sg is founded by the people behind @tipsypenguinsg, themed after the famous Wu Zhe Tian, First Empress of China😍 the place is soaked with indie vibes with daily live bands from all around Asia as well as a paranoma view of the CBD🏙🌆 they served speciality cocktails 🍹 and Asian-inspired tapas created by their in-house chef ( whom previously worked from Les Amis) 😎 the location is slightly difficult to find, it’s on top of the offshore building : entrance is through an alley next to it! But such a secluded entrance is what makes this place off-the-beaten track and a hidden gem of Clarke quay🙃👍 Thanks @singapore.eats and @ladywu.sg for the invite!!! Looking forward to their future new concepts around Singapore soon hehe😉 check out my instastory for more detailed insights (or find them in my tasting highlight🤩)
