The Fragrant garlic pork ribs are super tender and good. The tofu in their claypot tofu was flavourful & soft.

Plump prawns, which are expected I guess, and canned fruit cocktail. Pass!

An enjoyable vegetable dish. There's a lot of stuff I don't eat, such as celery, black fungus, edamame and gingko nuts, but a lot of good stuff, such as lotus root, various mushrooms and of course macadamia.

The definitive signature. Fish was okay but the sambal was damn good. Spicy but not choking. I can pair it anyday with rice. Fyi it's more like sambal spread on fish, therefore the fish isn't exactly seasoned that way.

The cousins went to Lai Huat sambal Fish Eating House at Siglap last night with high hopes and ordered their signature - fried fish with mountain of sambal belachan. It was just that - rock hard fish slapped wth an almost unctuous coat of belachan (that's not even flavourful). YET every table had this dish on their table. Perhaps they are all, like us, first timers who walked out swearing never to return in the near future.
ps: We also found a rubber band in our kang kong, but they did service recovery very well and served up another dish of kai lan wth pork floss - prob the star dish of the evening. #sgeats #dinner #siglap #burpple

Phew. It was raining. So we just popped by the nearest dining place for dinner.
Was attracted to this San Lao Hor Fun and ordered a huge one. Okay, too big too much for 2 pax.
But, they nailed it! Yummy. A must try when you're here!

WARNING! The generous serving of sambal chilli is so fragrant and addictive that you may end up ordering more and more bowls of rice to go with it. My mum told me that my aunt once wolfed down three bowls of rice as she could not stop eating the sambal chilli. 😂😂😂 (Date: 20 February 2016 Saturday) #katpies_chinesefood #katpies_birthday

I simply LOVE this dish. The skin of the roasted chicken is crispy and the meat is succulent. The other half of this dish is chicken meat tossed in an addictive Thai chilli sauce with lots of sliced onions. (Date: 20 February 2015 Saturday) #katpies_chinesefood #katpies_birthday

This is the most fried meal I ever had. All items are well-fried and tasty, nothing special though. But I would prefer the samba to be more spicy. The meal for 2 costs $90 which we feel is not worth it at all.

who knew chye po (菜脯) could be so addictive ? slightly starchy texture pf the Kway teow is jazzed up with shredded kailan and bits of chye poh.

sambal is really special , with chye po and hei bee infused in it. fish is fried to perfection, even the bones can be eaten. smallest size ($32) is good for 2-4 pax depending on how many other dishes you order.

Met expectations, but too little.

Ok, enough of gory stories. Just go try them out yourself! #brenbreneats #laihuatsignatures #chinesefood #asian #friedfish #cny #lunchisgood #sambal #meesua #noodles #beancurd #caipo #chicken #roast #sgfood #sgfoodie #igsg #buzzfood #burpple #whati8today #crispy #fried

Awhile back when I was here for dinner with a bunch of friends for dinner.

A restaurant that serves most of their dishes better than the average. Had Salted-Egg Prawns, Pork ribs, and many more!

The highlight goes to the Sambal Pomfret that is topped with a generous servicing of sambal. The combination of the spiciness and crispiness was good! Sambal punches you in the face while the aroma of the pomfret wasn't overpowered!

Makes you crave for more even though its pretty spicy. Definitely recommend!

Yam Paste with Gingko Nuts (Orh Nee), Salted Egg Prawns, Fish Maw in Crab Meat Stock and Broccoli with Scallops. (Date: 20 February 2016 Saturday) #katpies_chinesefood #katpies_birthday

The fish was dry too. I enjoyed the crispy baby squid but I doubt i'll be returning just for that.
