Sitting at the top of Mandarin Oriental as well as KL's list of prettiest spots for dim sum, Lai Po Heen is a true gem. The gorgeous view, first-class service and charming details, such as the glints of edible gold flakes on the Steamed Prawn Dumplings (RM23), all come together to make this the ultimate venue for your next dim sum date! Spoon into comfort with a bowl of silky Congee With Chicken And Mushrooms (RM13) while you also savour succulent prawns that top the Steamed Siew Mai (RM33). Since it's a date, you might want to pass on the LPH D24 Pancakes (RM43) that stashes fragrant durian within. But if you happen to be a durian-loving duo, you have come to the right place — indulge! A stalwart of fine Cantonese cuisine, Lai Po Heen overlooking the KLCC gardens is one of the city's most exquisite spots for dim sum. This restaurant in Mandarin Oriental will delight your family on celebratory weekends! From the more conventional list, you must have Steamed Siew Mai (RM33) that's temptingly topped with a whole crystal-like prawn, whereas the Deep Fried Prawn and Lobster Flower Rolls (RM33) will be a special treat — delicately shaped and crisply delicious. The signature here is surprisingly local but absolutely worth ordering — the LPH D24 Pancakes (RM43) is an indulgent dessert that serves thin crepes stuffed with fresh, fragrant durian and whipped cream.

Decked in beautiful 19th Century Chinese furnishings, Lai Po Heen provides an upscale and unique dining experience that’s unlike your usual yum cha standards. There are tens of dumpling selections, congee and delicious fried morsels (the deep fried prawn and lobster flower rolls, RM23, are impressively well-done) to choose from. Prices range from RM20 to RM45.

I highly recommend against skinny jeans.

A very classy upscale yet chinese environment wafting throughout this eatery which is famously known as Lai Poh Heen.. Whenever the name of this richly decorated in Selangor Pewter wear restaurant pops up in a conversation, it's always being associated with their famous yet generous morsels of dim sum treats and not to forget their glossy roasted Peking duck that is expertly carved infront of the table.. For lunch, we had the pleasure of trying out the famous dim sum selections which is all on their paper menu/ordering form! To my surprise that their dim sum which has many classic dishes of the chicken feet, the prawn dumpling and porridge are all reasonably priced.. The service here is excellent and swifty as most of our orders came within a blink of an eye! Talk about fast hands of the kitchen masters.. From where we were seated, we've got a wonderful view of the KLCC gardens and also the kitchen which you can all the action while indulging on those silky porridge.. Their dim sum( Rm23) is really generous as they came in 4's and the portion is really huge and the best part is their prawn dumpling has edible gold being dressed on and their siew mai is really good with the addition of a whole prawn to finish the look( talk about generosity!!!) Really worth every penny you're paying for as everything that we ordered was really good and the portion truly reflects the price! Gotta try their dim sum and their porridge!

Small sized, but done right!
