Personally, I feel that this stall does one of the best ban mians in Singapore. The highlight of the bowl would be the mian guo itself, because they are really thick and chewy, and the floury taste isn't too strong! The soup is really flavourful, and you know that it's natural goodness, not from simple MSG. They are really generous with their ingredients, especially the meats and fried anchovies. Totally worth my trip down from the east!

Don't be intimated by the long queue here at Lan Xiang Noodles 兰香麵粉粿板麵; the 10 people in front of me were served pretty quickly, & I got my food in 13 minutes (yes I counted!).

I was dead set on trying their Ban Mian 板麵 ($3.50 nett), but when the lady running the stall swiftly waltzed through the queue in front of me & took everyone's orders at lightning speed, I was influenced by the guy in front of me & ended up ordering what he did - Mee Hoon Kueh 麵粉粿 ($3.50 nett).

Whether it’s meesua or banmian, this is by far the best I’ve ever had - good tasty broth (might be a bit salty for some), runny egg, crispy ikan billis and the texture of the noodle is always done right (not too soggy or too hard - chewy enough!). Always my go-to for comfort food!

The you mian was springy, soft and flavourful. As for the soup, it was clear, robust, sweet and more importantly, it was not salty! Moreover, the minced meat was well flavoured and marinated! A very satisfying bowl of handmade noodles.
