Named after its founder and reowned chocolate maestro, the Singapore branch of this French chain opened in September 2006.
.
Their rendition follows a house blend loved by their founder, a mix of dark and milk chocolate. It's medium thick and smooth with a frothy head, carrying medium chocolatey bitter sweet flavour.
.
Ingredients are sourced through close collaborations with farmers worldwide, resulting in exquisite gourmet quality.
.
Served in a traditional metal mug as a homage to kopitiam culture.

When you are at a chocolate bar, definitely got to order chocolate. The lava cake was moist and expectantly oozing out with warm molten chocolate. Overall a good lava cake that wasn't too fudgy and overtly sweet. It's pricey though considering I was expecting more when compared with others I've had.

Still one of the best places for creme brulee ($14). I could hear the crackle sound when my spoon tapped the crispy caramelised top. The custard had a medium firmness to it and not overtly sweet; and every scoop was creamy and filled with vanilla and caramel flavour. The Flan ($9.40) was surprisingly and unexpected good as it tasted like bread and butter pudding. The texture, the layers and the flavour just hit all the right notes of a bread and butter pudding. Hmmm yummzz!

Sadly the cup of classic hot chocolate ($9.70) did not live up to its standard and expectation, and I was left disappointed. It tasted different when I first had it as it was less rich, less creamy and less intense.

Love chocolate and crunchy tarts? Then Laurent Bernard's chocolate tart is for you. If I remember correctly, this little tart here is about $8.80 but so worth the price. Other chocolate desserts like the famous Molten Lava Cake and Chocolate Soufflé is not to be missed! I'm craving for it again oh gosh the weight....
