Black Forest Cake (1/2 kg - $68) I felt that the cake was quite moist and not that strong cherry taste tbh. The cake melted quite fast and it's better to put inside the fridge after self collection or delivery.

After trying the baby Pure Chocolate ($11.90) some months back, I ordered the Upsized 500g Pure Chocolate Cake ($75).

Unlike the baby version which is all mousse, this one has a layer of sponge cake as the base. Milk Chocolate level 50%+ kind of sweet.

Yes it’s a good chocolate mousse cake but a little *ouch* on the price tag

*Note: my taste palate leans towards dark bitter chocolate at a sweet spot of 65%-72% cocoa. So please use that as a gauge of my taste perspective.

Have been here a few times and I absolutely love the chocolate soufflé. Today’s visit was disappointing. Was there at about 2.55pm, it was a quiet afternoon. 8 out of the 15 seats were used by the staff to wrap hampers. Two tables (out of 3) were almost done with their food. Staff told us to come back later, didn’t bother to take down our numbers or suggest we wait outside. (So if we come back in 5 min and the newly vacated table is occupied it’s a too bad situation?). Asked for the menu, staff pointed at the board with no explanation (so do they not have a menu anymore or just no menus in the day?). Service staff said the chocolate soufflé was not available and I had to ask when would it be (7pm), then we asked if they had the chocolate lava cake to which she replied, “not available” in her couldn’t care less attitude. There was nary a smile nor hint of apology of this (or any of the staff’s) face so I can only conclude they weren’t interested in serving us today. It’s such a shame because I really love their sorbets and chocolate soufflé. :(

Lola (left) for me was a disappointment. At $11.80, it tasted flat and lifeless for a chocolate sponge-layered cake.

Pure Chocolate (right) was a chocolate mousse encased in a dark chocolate cream. This is a good cake with a rich but not jer-lat feeling, hallmarks of a good balanced chocolate mousse cake. At $11.80, it’ll a tad painful on the wallet. But good quality comes at a price.

Skip the lava cake and order the choc souffle with choc sauce, you're welcome. :)

When this soufflé came floating to our table, I could have sworn I saw several pairs of eyes instantly pivot towards us. And justifiably so.

This masterpiece of a chocolate soufflé ($16.50) is insanely fluffy with just enough jiggle, and a crisp edge to create just enough of a bite (my favourite part!). The inside are served piping hot and lusciously soft — with a dark, not overly sweet flavour. Perfect for dark choco lovers.

Go solo or paired with an additional scoop of ice cream (+$6.00) — I’d go without — this is probably one of the priciest soufflés on the market, but it’ll leave you feeling like a million bucks 🤗

I’d higher expectations for Laurent’s chocolate soufflé - after all they’re a renowned chocolatier! The soufflé wasn’t astoundingly good- in fact wasn’t impressionable. It was decent, tho no outstanding points about the soufflé. Lava cake was decent too- w flowy chocolate lava but again, nothing special about the cake nor the molten chocolate within.

One of the better croques I've tried, which is really all about the cheese and bechamel sauce ratio to bread, ham and egg. This was done to a T.#betterthanmercimarcel

Homemade Waffle ($14)-light and crispy. Served with berries, sweetened cream, powder sugar and hazelnut ice cream (was meant to be vanilla but was not available) 4.25/5

Rich dark chocolate that was very fluffy. It's rather bitter and not sweet so u need to depend on the vanilla sauce and the vanilla ice cream for sweetness. However not sure if it really commands that price tag.

Quite worth it and comes with drink and ice cream as well. Filled with cheese and ham. Bread seemed too thick at first but the ratio was surprisingly on point

Standard fare but the tomato was super juicy. Toast just crumbles apart and the sausage was rather flavourless and not nearly tender enough

Disappointing. No doubt it was flavourful, but it was dry and tough. The duck fat potatoes were quite good but it could have been better seasoned. Definitely there are much better duck confit at more reasonable prices.

For desserts to satisfy that after-dinner sweet tooth cravings, we went to Laurent Bernard Chocolatier. We had the Black Forest Cake, The Trianon and double scoops of Mango Passion and Raspberry sorbet. I enjoy something lighter and less rich so the Black Forest was my preferred choice as there's also the tartness from the fruits that cut through the sweetness. The Trianon was definitely richer and had lots of good reviews from my family as well!

I love, love, love the soufflés at Spago Singapore but Laurent Bernard Chocolatier is another place I have always counted on for good ones. There is a light crisp to the edges of theirs and is evenly airy the whole way through inside.
Besides the above chocolate flavoured soufflé that comes with vanilla sauce and ice-cream, they do a Grand Marnier that’s downright fabulous too.

Chocolate Souffle-perhaps something unfortunate happened to my souffle, took almost an hour to make and some leaked out. Worry not, it lifts up to its reputation. 4.25/5

Duck Confit-very tender, fall of the bone like those fall of the bone ribs 4/5

Came for my fix of choc ice cream at my fav chocolatier. Sat afternoon was quiet and peaceful. Very breezy. Their americano was the strongest brew I have ever tasted. It was bitter and strong. A bit too bitter. But paired very well with the choc ice cream.
On a side note to pet owners, we were rejected by TCC Robertson Quay branch cos "landlord disallows dogs". U can still sit but dog must be leashed outside by the lamppost. So I brought my dog here. Guess they have different landlords...

Here's how u r supposed to eat; dig ur spoon in the middle of the soufflé, pour in the vanilla sauce, scoop them up and paired it with vanilla ice cream 😋😋😋 Once u start digging, it's impossible to stop! The warm & cooling sensation r da boomz!

Especially love the soufflé!! The dark chocolate is so rich & intense without being OTT. Definitely a must order for chocolate lovers!! This is fast becoming one of my fav cafe ❤❤❤ Great food, mind-blowing desserts, excellent service & tuck away from the busy Orchard. I'm charmed by this place 😊😊😊

On a hot hot day, this was a life saver! Very choc. Very cold. With bits of choc pcs in the ice cream. I was informed that all their ice cream are home made. Their hazelnut was very sweet. And the strawberry very sour. But this choc was just perfect. No wonder the ice cream tin was almost empty.
