even though not as iconic as the 20 layer pb choc cake, presentation is still insaneee😍😍😍 the cream is basically kept on top by a layer of film that will be removed in front of you by your server!! my brother and i mopped the delicious mascarpone mouse HAHA and i loved that the ladyfingers had strong espresso taste and were soaked through and through

mango PANNA COTTA ($18) w coconut foam, pistachio biscotti is super refreshing but filling too🥭🥭 PISTACHIO GELATO ($8) came in hugeeeee scoops too and robust in flavour

highly recommend the GRILLED OCTOPUS ($33) to share🌟 rlly smoky & soft

the MARGHERITA ($32) & CARNE ($37) PIZZAS were not as amazing as i remembered but still good!! SALMON OREGANATO ($45) was everyone’s fav😍😍 being cooked medium well but my personal fav was the umami MAFALDINE SEAFOOD ALFREDO ($41)🦞🧈

only dish i wouldn’t recommend was the MEDITERRANEAN SEABASS ($48) really dry

Found ourselves at the top of Marina Bay Sands at LAVO upon being kicked out of Ce La Vie for being young thugs 😤

It was the eve of my friend’s birthday, so we wanted to have dinner at a special restaurant, and LAVO’s vibe sure does not disappoint 😫

We ordered the Margherita 🍅 ($32), Truffle 🍄($33), and Carne 🥓 ($37) pizzas. I suggest you skip the Margherita, as it paled in comparison to the other two pizzas.

The Truffle pizza 🍄 did not have a strong truffle taste (which I enjoyed, as in my experience some dishes get completely dominated by the truffle flavour 😔). This flavour was subtly complimented by the other toppings (ricotta, arugula and wild mushrooms!) giving it a very fresh, yet complex taste 👅 .

The Carne pizza 🥓 was LOADED with what i think were hams (Salame, Prosciutto etc etc). I enjoyed it very much as the flavours were deep, and yet didn’t have the heavy meaty and greasy taste that this kind of meat tends contain (imo as a small animal eater at least 🥺). It looked really pretty as well ☺️.

We also ordered the Rigatoni Melanzana pasta 🍆🍅($36) and the Spaghetti Carbonara 🧀🥓($38). The star of the Rigatoni Melanzana was the buffalo mozzarella. The sauce was mediocre at best. Meanwhile, the spaghetti carbonara was creamy and rich. Regardless, it’s safe to say that both pastas were nothing special.

The service was subpar on the day we went, the staff seemed kinda annoyed which was a buzzkill 🐝 🔪. (This might have been because we arrived at around 10:30 pm, but from my previous experience service at LAVO is usually exceptional, maybe they were having an off day). They did however bring out a pastry in the end FOC to give the birthday girl 🥳🍾

Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and we all had a memorable night 🤍.

Rating: 4.0/5 (4.2/5 if you take the immaculate vibe of the location into consideration)

With its impeccable view, LAVO is the perfect location for celebrations. And this cake is the perfect accompaniment for one’s celebration. (And if you’re not here to commemorate anything special, why not just celebrate yourself? Because you don’t want to miss out on this huge, decadent, piece of chocolate’s devil cake. And you sure are going to fear missing out when you see almost every table having this served. It’s so huge I believe it can feed up to 6 pax, depending on how much you’re game to have. But this cake was luxurious, with a compact texture that might feel heavy on the palate with the chocolate and peanut butter combination for some. The peanut butter gave a slight saltish complement to the not-too-sweet chocolate layers, which was a seemingly simple combination, but so delicious when done right — just like this thick slab of cake here.

A classic carne pizza that was served in a flatbread-like shape. Flavour was just decent, but texture of the dough was nicely soft yet chewy. It was also not as oily as the commonplace pizzas, which made this so light on both the palate and the stomach.
