Classic vanilla and caramel custard - this was simple and great. The custard was so smooth and light, it felt as if it was floating through my mouth with every bite. This was the dessert we ordered as part of the lunch set, and when we were eyeing the neighbouring tables, the raspberry vanilla choux puff looked stunning too. We will be back!

Profiteroles - homemade choux bun filled with vanilla ice cream, drenched with warm chocolate sauce and crispy almond flakes. These were probably the best profiteroles I’ve ever had! The choux puffs were delightfully light and crisp, the chocolate sauce was rich but not too cloying... I could go on and on. Bottom line is, this bistro is amazing.

Pan-seared onglet with shallots and garlic confit, served with French fries - we had this as part of their lunch set menu ($38), which is really value for money for the high quality of food they deliver. The beef was so tender and soft! We were gushing about it with every bite. Even the fries on the side were done fresh and crisp.

So creamy and delightful! We enjoyed every spoon of it and it was gone in no time. The French really do know how to make simple dishes shine, and Le Bistro du Sommelier really takes me back to two months ago when I was in Paris.

We spread it over fresh warm baguette slices they provided, and the duck tasted so, so rich. The portion given was generous enough as well. We loved it so much that we polished the plate clean. Will be back to try more of their starters, and I expect that they will be exceedingly good as well!

Located on Armenian street, the foods serving at this classic French bistro is super hearty, full bodied and delicious. Their rillettes are outstanding, along with their pates but Come hungry and order the mammoth sized Côte de Boeuf which sees Angus prime beef ribs oven roasted served with beautifully caramelised shallots and garlic confit. It’s not pocket-friendly at $148, but it feeds two hungry people and it’s also outrageously good.
