homely and delicious kampong chicken! tender and also goes really well with the salty and slightly sweet sauce. the chicken rice was also one of the best i ever had, fragrant and not too dry at all
Excellently cooked and served hainanese kampong chicken rice, fragrant and delicious. Worth making a trip down to this homely restaurant for your reunion dinner. Very tasty!
Had a hearty and comforting lunch here. Enjoyed the tender and fresh chicken and flavourful cai pou hor fun. Will definitely return!
visited le cheng hainanese chicken rice and it was one of the most fulfilling meals yet! my favourite would be the salted fish egg fried rice, it was so fragrant, and the salted fish taste was just right. second in place would be the sambal kangkong, my friend and i would not stop eating that. the hit of the sambal was strong and every bite of kangkong gave a nice crunch. white pepper chicken clay pot soup is a must have, the warm soup feels so nostalgic and comforting as it goes down your throat, giving u a slight kick of pepper every time. enjoy the soup with some tofu as well, we mixed it in with the soup and it was delicious. another must have is their signature kampung chicken, one of the best, most fragrant, chicken rice ive ever had, it’s not too salty either and the skin is so silky! enjoyed the meal with a jug of iced barley water. thank you to the kind staff for their service as well and i would recommend all to give this place a try!
Ordered one of their Signature, the Kampung chicken rice! ($6) It was super tender and savoury with juices flowing out of the chicken. Also ordered their White Pepper Claypot Chicken soup ($28 - small) , it packs a punch with its peppery taste, soothing and comforting with many chicken chunks! The soup is packed with a variety of ingredients, including black fungus and tofu skin, which are already included in the price! Additional toppings can be added for $4 each.
Apart from their Hainanese Chicken, I have also tried their other dishes such as the Kangkong ($10), Prawn Paste chicken ($14) and their Fried rice ($7). All dishes lived up to expectations, in terms of flavour and serving! (maybe kangkong can have more sambal 🤣🤣🤣)
Staffs are also super friendly and attentive! Overall, Great experience!
Tried the Kampung Chicken which had a big portion despite it being a half chicken! The chicken was tender and it went really well with the fragrant rice. The restaurant was clean and air-conditioned which was definitely a bonus! If you’re looking for a nice chicken rice spot, this is definitely a must try!
