Had the steak with scorched rice and steak with mash. Both actually came with similar flame grilled beef, which was equally good, grilled to perfection, flavourful with a bit of smoky charred aroma and yet tender and juicy inside.

As for the carbs, I find the rice was too bland and lacked the burnt taste i was expecting. Mash was too cheesy and buttery for my liking (but that's just me as I don't like buttery stuff).

We had other sides as well and overall we enjoyed the food. :)

Love the dish, super creamy and delicious.

Had amazing truffle fries as well

The steak was sliced really thinly and was medium-cooked, though no preference was asked by the waiter. It was really soft and flavourful, and was almost melting in our mouths. Mashed potatoes were super buttery and smooth and went really well with the steak. Portion is not huge but would definitely return for this.

Burpple 1-for-1 for Aburi Salmon Mentaiko Don ($18), mentaiko sauce was extra rich and creamy, and the ebiko roe toppings was a nice touch. The vinegar infused rice provided a nice contrast to the mentaiko sauce. Wished the salmon cubes were bigger tho. Meanwhile, the Truffle Beef Yakiniku don ($18) was presented with tender beef and the rice was filled with truffle aroma. Oomph. Both are good choices!!

Salmon don 8.5/10
Truffle beef don 8/10
Ambience 7/10 (indoor)
Service 7/10

Scoring yet another great deal at Le Coq with Burpple Beyond, I got my usual (Truffle Beef Yakiniku) and had their Steak & Scorched Rice ($28) for the first time. Good for 2 pax to share, the portion of the crispy garlic rice was pretty substantial. The scorched rice was also fragrant from the generous bits of garlic and held a smokey aroma from the slight char on the bottom as well as the edges that were touching the hot plate. As for the protein, the flame-grilled beef was done to a lovely shade of pink. Tender and lightly seasoned, the meat was surprisingly juicy and paired well with the rice. Though noting that the dish got a tad cloying toward the end.

used the burpple 1 for 1, ordered scorched beef rice and truffle beef yakiniku rice! both were rlly good! they were generous with the beef and sauce and serving size. rlly yummy! upgraded both to sets , total was about $28!
