Horlicks Ice Cream ($3.20)

Smooth and milky horlicks ice cream from @lenglengicecream . Horlicks flavour was rather aromatic and texture of the ice cream was thick and creamy. Melting did not occur till much later into the dessert, which is a good sign that it probably has enough fat. Loved the ice-cream but I was way too full after pizza buffet to try this hole-in-the-wall dessert stand selling interesting ice cream flavours.

I know this has been opened for a while since I always walk pass this every day, but I never had the reason to try it, until one hot Sunday. ☀️☀️☀️

It is a little pricey for $3.20 if you are expecting some cheap ice cream given the name of the stall, but the ice cream is freshly made and the single scoop is quite huge. They have other premium flavours as well but they are on the $3.90 range.

The taste was slightly enhanced by the homemade earl grey kaya spread that tasted balanced and not overpowering. The gula melaka ice cream was sweet, creamy and did not melt very easily!

Visited this newly opened waffles & ice cream cafe after seeing the March Newly Opened #BurppleGuide! Situated @ WIS@Changi, it definitely is a cafe easily overlooked. Ordered the Sugee Waffle ($3.50) along with 2 premium scoops of ice cream - Salted Caramel & Toasted Marshmallow (1 for $3.90, 2 for $7.90 & 3 for $10)! The Salted Caramel was really salty and I didn't expect it to sit down on my palate when I first tried it but it turned out surprisingly well on the waffle & its strong caramel taste is definitely a winner. The Toasted Marshmallow on the other hand was less overpowering, but really good in it's own way too! Both the flavors complemented the freshly prepared Sugee Waffle very well and the flavors intertwined with each other to produce a really great plate of waffles & ice cream! You can also opt for a rainbow bread/cone for free if you're not up for some waffles, which also comes in the ladyboss' own rendition of Pandan Waffles. I'd recommend getting 3 scoops tho as the ice cream balls were a little small. The service rendered was amazing & the ladyboss was really warm & friendly! Do support them if you're in the east! Do note that while the shop is air-conditioned, only outdoor seating is available.

To cool down on hot days, head to Leng Leng Ice Cream for old-school ice cream treats. The menu is simple but full of retro flair, and we love their in-your-face Singaporean branding. Ice cream, mostly in local flavours like Thai milk tea and coconut, starts from $3.20 a scoop. Choose to have it sandwiched in a slice of Rainbow Bread for free, in a Cone ($0.80), or on top of either the Pandan Waffle ($1.50) or Sugee Waffle ($3.50). The latter is quite dense and cakey, and bears a hint of almond. We like that familiar childhood toppings like gem biscuits and peanut candy are complimentary. Alternatively, quench your thirst with Milkshakes (from $6.80 each), a Root Beer Float (from $4.20) or a chocolaty Milo Godzilla (from $4.20 with a scoop of ice cream).
Avg price: $5 per person

Came across this new ice-cream parlour on Burpple that seemed to have opened during the weekend. Pretty interesting considering it's a rather local-themed and almost nostalgic set up — they also offer very local-centric items such as Pandan Waffles (one can even opt for Kaya spread) and Sugee Waffles with the ice-cream with familiar childhood biscuits for toppings.

Overall the waffle here lies closer to the cakey sort, and that it does carry a light hint of almond as almond powder is mixed into the batter to replicate the flavour of Sugee Cake; personally though I would prefer to have a stronger hint of almond. The waffles also seemed to have carried a little gritty texture thought that was barely noticeable unless someone were to really go into detail. The coconut ice-cream was actually pretty creamy, rich and refreshing — my favourite out of the three that I tried (Speculoos and Toasted Marshmallow being the other two).

Would really like to commend the service of here — the staff was pretty apologetic that she has run out of Pandan batter for my initial order of Pandan Waffles, she initiated the change to Sugee Waffles at no extra charge. She came serving the Sugee Waffles with peanut spinkled over the top to the table, and that's when she actually asked if I could eat peanuts out of her own initiative; ended up replacing my order yet again with another fresh Sugee Waffle while I could have easily scraped off the peanuts — really friendly and takin care of her customers well!
