($6) it's quite nice tbh as a lot of people queued for this stall. But I got bones for roasted chicken :") and my colleagues they did recommend me for trying this. It's slightly oily but then overall it's quite nice.

Fragrant chicken rice with tender and flavourful meat. Chili sauce is well done too. Queue can be very long and slow so best to avoid peak mealtimes.

Short walk from Bras Basah mrt so it makes for an affordable eat in town.

Chicken Rice
.
My love for chicken rice is unlike other local favourites and I’m always trying to find new gems. This round was at Leong Yeow’s Famous Waterloo Street Hainanese Chicken Rice. For half a chicken, 2 plates of rice and a plate of char siew, the damage was $20. We opted for the white chicken as it tends to have a softer texture than its roasted compatriot. Breaking down the chicken parts, my favourite is always the thigh but the chicken breast is also an indicator of how well the chicken is done. Overall, the breast was rather dry while the thigh meat was ok. The skin was delicious though the rice wasn’t memorable. The char siew was average. I’ll eat this again if I am in the vicinity but it won’t be something I will crave.

Once I opened the box, I was assaulted by the fragrance of the chicken. Skin crispy, meat tender and rice is right texture. Chicken was not salty. Had drank their soup on another occasion and it's one of the best chicken soups.

Had a good 2d2n bringing Papy Chung around various hawker centres to try some local specialties (chicken rice, fried carrot cake, fried fish soup noodles, laksa to name a few). Now I know where I got my foodie genes from :P Really hope that the hawking trade will not die out in the near future >
