The first dish of our 7-course dinner at Lerouy is a Japanese-inspired affair that impresses with a meaty slab of cured hamachi, accompanied by the adventurous choice of a quenelle of chilly shiso sorbet and a verdant dashi and shiso sauce. At once refreshing and umami, the unorthodox preparation of traditionally complementary ingredients was a memorable and delicious introduction to an enjoyable dinner.

Taste: 4/5

A fine enough way to end the meal, the Gorgonzola could however have come through more emphatically, as the refreshing sesame ice cream and tart raspberry shards would have easily balanced out the cheese's strong flavour.
