For those who have been following us, you would have noticed our number 1 favourite Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee is non other than Hainan Hokkien Mee located in Golden Mile Food Centre. Itโ€™s the dry style with thin Bee Hoon and fried to a strong wok-hei taste! Ever since Golden Mile Food Centre undergo renovation, we are glad that we can still ease our craving with their sonโ€™s stall selling the same style of dry Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee. I must say, it tasted relatively close and comparable to his father stall in Golden Mile Centre, and we are satisfied! The difference is they served small bits of Fried Pork Lard on the side and they have more variations to choose from.โ €

This stall is run by the son of the famous Fried Hokkien Mee hawker at Golden Mile Food Centre. Featured is the $10 version, where there are additional ingredients (there are total of 4 prawns, 2 hidden underneath the noodles) and noodles as compared to the cheaper $5 version. The style here is similar to that of his dad, which is the drier style. Taste wise, the wok hei game was pretty strong in the noodles here and quite flavourful too. I also liked the sambal chilli (spicy and shiok), while the pork lard was fragrant. Overall, this was a pretty decent plate of fried Hokkien noodles! They also have a $15 version where they use larger prawns, so prawns lovers may wanna consider that version instead.

This should be my type of Hokkien Mee as i preferred more beehoon than yellow noodles but its lack of flavour.

Came here after seeing ieatishootipostโ€™s Dr Leslie Tay post about this stall on Facebook; itโ€™s run by the second generation from Hainan Hokkien Mee at Golden Mile Food Centre.

This Hokkien mee is a drier style than most others but itโ€™s still delicious, especially with the chilli and lard! Worth the try, even if parking could be hard to come by around the area (Lor 17 Geylang).
