In Vietnamese, this is called "Ca Hu Kho Tieu" and it's the kind of dish that begs for a plate of plain rice so you can ladle its appetising, savoury and slightly sweet sauce all over. With a low level of peppery-ness, it's also well matched with the catfish's cottony-soft flesh and thick, jelly-like smooth skin.

The two pieces of deboned pork chop seem to be coated with a slick sweetness and were quite fragrant from the grilling. They're quite lean too with no visible fats. With the egg and all, it's not bad for $6.

Separated by the carpark entrance road from the forever-crowded Long Phung is a new casual eatery called "Lily Vietnamese Food".
Of the four dishes we picked to try for dinner, the one that impressed us to no end were the "Fried Chicken Wings ($10). They'd been tossed quickly in a pan with a mouthwatering sauce after being fried to a crisp, so they're coated in a yummy stickiness. My guess is there's fish sauce, lemongrass, black pepper plus sweetness from caramelised onions and shallots making up the sauce. As though all that wasn't enough to make your mouth feel like there's a party going on, the wings also came with a saucer of dip that's a bomb of flavour!
Not quite on par with the chicken wings but still really tasty regardless were the "Broken Rib Rice with Egg" ($6) and the "Fried Pork with Bitter Gourd" ($8). We couldn't help but ooh all over the perfectly fried egg that was perched on the former - never underestimate the importance of a well-fried egg is what I say. For those of you who like something clean tasting, the "Bee Tai Bak with Chicken Soup" ($5.50) with its generous garnishing of shallots and coriander is a good bet.
