It will be impolite to say no to Japanese inspired scotch eggs. This is Piyo Piyo, a perfectly made Ajitsuke tamago wrapped in a layer of minced pork tonkatsu. This is one of those great inventions that have never gone out of favour.
Imakatsu has been on my watchlist for the longest time since their opening in Singapore. Finally here today, super love their Kagoshima premium pork loin cutlet and piyopiyo.
Chinese New Year is just around the corner, I am sure that you are all geared up for sumptuous feast. If you’re still looking to dine out for your festive dinner, Tomo Izakaya’s Japanese-inspired Chinese New Year set menus might be of interest to you.

A family option for 4 pax at $333 or large group of 8 to 10 pax at $888 will feature a specially curated set menu.
Japanese food anyday anytime.
The Maguro plate features the Otoro, Chutoro and Akami that is relatively fresh and pocket-kind.
This is the Japanese rendition of the Chinese New Year Yusheng. Here's a tower of colours filled with fresh seafood, and assorted condiments.
Getting my raw fish fix at Teppei Syokudo takeaway flagship outlet. The famed barachirashi needs no introduction, also featured here are some Teppei fried items - curry potato croquette, pork katsu, and Hokkaido corn. For all who are working around Millenia Walk, you can now get your cravings satisfied at Teppei Syokudo second (15-seater) outlet.
Fans of Aoki should also check out the new and notable Sushi Jin by Les Amis Group which was launched last year November 2014 in Owen Link at One Farrer Hotel. The chef usually recommends the Omakase but I decided to try the Bara Chirashi ($32++) which is a noteworthy option and popular dish at Sushi Jin.
