loved the place. would go again the next time im there! nice chic place runned by some young people. went on a weekday morning and sat by the window watching the locals go on their busy-ness. would imagine it'll be great too, in the evening or at night, watching people go on by while enjoying a little moment of a slowed down pace and quietness.

seems almost always crowded when i go. small busy place. food is not bad and serving size is just nice. prefer the outdoor seating though, for more space and fresher air.

one of the places i probably walked past without noticing. always like cafes where i can see the people at work drawing latte art and making the food. food was okay. was a bit of a wait though. pretty nice place though a bit small and might get squeezy. would check out the upper level the next time i go.

clean, quiet place. chocolate tart was rich and good. cute cups for our hot chocolate. look out for the signs around the counters!

quite a nice place, good taiwan food, friendly service.

had some breakfast sets with the parents. nice place to chill but food wasnt impressive.

tea, or coffee if you prefer, with 3 mini macaroons. had a strawberry tart as well, which was not bad either. busy place. expect to wait.

good for sharing over drinks and chatter. too much for one. best eaten when still warm and crispy!

went past pb at jem and got excited! heard much about it and wanted to try jt out much. went to buy some breads for next day's breakfast and cakes for after-dinner desserts. took a long time to decide what to get with the wide selection and everything looks pretty! got a mille crepe and strawberry cake to try. found the mille crepe a lil dense and heavy though. the cake was a lil moist too. not sure if its bcos we took a while to travel home before consuming. i think they might taste better if we were to have it fresh at the outlet. the packaging was impressive though, the staff protected the cakes by rounding a piece of cardboard around the cakes and packing them with a small ice pack. not so impressed with the packing of the breads though. the tiramisu pastry which looked real pretty on the shelves was a lil smashed and flattened when it was put into the paper holder, and the cocoa powder on top of the pastry was scattered all over the whole holder by the time i ate it

heard much about this place but never knew it was just right next to tbb, which i've been to quite a few times. cant believe i was blind. haha. saw photos of this place before and wanted to check it out since. place is nicely decorated despite the small space and oddly shaped layout. the space was fully made use of and "private corners" was thus created, out of the otherwise limiting layout of the shop. ordered a cake (swiss chocolate mousse cake) and drink (ice blended strawberries and cream) which were just okay. not too impressed. my brunch date had a scoop of ice cream (sea salt caramel) which she found not bad. might come by again for an another try, to check out the other foods and ice cream.

finally checking out forty hands. heard much about it and am glad i finally came. took a while to find it but was so excited when we found it, amongst the other lil cafes and shops around the area. the cafe was pretty full but we managed to get some seats. you could choose to sit outside the cafe, inside, or at the back end of the cafe where its non air conditioned but much airy-er and spacious than the inside of the cafe where its air conditioned. so, since we came for the coffee, i decided to try the mocha instead of going for my usual hot choc. and i chose the big boy breakfast - some bread, spicy chipotle sausage, bacon, bolognaise (real good!) , sauteed shrooms, roasted (gigantic) tomatoes and choice of eggs (i chose scrambled). am glad the food and coffee didnt disappoint, and would love to come back again! to check out their kong ba pao (?!) and their cookies and cakes!
